No Area 51 in DLC?

Post » Wed Sep 29, 2010 11:46 pm

I haven t fired mine either. Fo3 I did even before the download, becase my followers got in trouble alot. This game they r just living the life.

Yeah lol, I usually just let my companions hang our in my L38 pad... While I got out looking for things to fill up the fridge, medicine cabinet etc...

It gets pretty boring waiting for new DLC, I even spent hours painstakingly positioning mines on a bookshelf so they looked like they did in silver rush etc.. You can't get the pool balls to fit inside the triangle though unfortunately..

I assumed Mr House sealed the lower levels of Vault 21 with concrete because there was literally nothing down there. IIRC it was said that when he won the place, he had the lower levels stripped of technology to presumably aid in construction of other things, or to sell.

Sure but you can literally see some of the 'sealed rooms'. They have pool table's, juke box's etc in them...

The original name for Big Empty is Big MT. Training Facility. Doesn't sound like Area 51 to me. And there is a Big Mt. in Utah, so don't be surprised if it's there. If it's not Area 51, does it really matter? It's a high-tech military installation. There isn't anything special about the real life Area 51 as far as we are concerned, and nothing has been given in the Fallout universe to suggest otherwise. Basically, it's a location of cultural significance that happens to be somewhat near Vegas, that doesn't mean it has to be worth a damn in Fallout.

And... no more aliens. That's just a personal preference.

Yeah, I would at least like to know why Mr. House sealed up 21 like that. Only part is not covered with concrete?

Hey pal, could you tell me what you mean about house and vault 21? I've been through the game loads, but never noticed/ heard of this?

Havent alien's been in all the fallout's?
Area 51 would have to have some refrence to alien's. it's area 51 after all
Im not saying there need's to be live alien's (it would be nice though) just a reference to them i.e a spaceship or a dead alien in a jar or some[censored]. B)

heywhat if u saved an alien from area 51=new companion = U.F.O perk= fly to the commonwealth
or sharks with fricken laser beams on there fricken heads

U.F.O perk? Sir, you are crazy. I like crazy.
Oh how i have wished for the day that i can fly a vertibird. A u.f.o would do fine, i have no objections to aliens being in fallout. Worlds pretty much destroyed so if i was an alien race id be scavenging the *hit out of earth gathering ore and what not.

Do we really need Aliens? I would think that Area 51 would have been looted by plenty of other people, and is probably inhabited by some raiders/tribals/whoever found it. I doubt that Aliens would stay in a bunker for a couple hundred years after the apocalypse.

Defense systems keep intruders out while aliens run amuk inside?
how about scientists have maintained it since the war, creating highly advanced technology. they see the rest of america "Tainted" by radiation therefore cutting themself off from the rest.

Consolation prize? Heh, I left the SM with 40 throwing knife spears, a few knife spears, lots of cosmic knives/clean and super heated, 3 automatic rifles, a holorifle, 3 bear trap fists, 7 police pistols, 5 regular SM armors, 3 regular helmets and a LOT of reinforced armor/helmets.. Oh and 37 juicy bars of gold..

I was quite happy with my haul :P

The game is set in Nevada and there's even Aliens in the region so including Area 51 in a DLC seems like a no brainer. No? There's all kinds of things they could do with that. Doesnt necessarily have to have Aliens in it. I just think it would be a waste if that location is never explored.

Aliens are only in with Wild Wasteland.

no there was a crashed alien ship in FO1 where we got a nice alien gun and a elvis picture the aliens where dead tho

there was no aliens in FO2 (not that i know off and i spent hours on FO2)

FO3 same has FO1 (before MZ DLC corse)

and FO:NV you need wild wastland trait to see them and they are the onlly leaving aliens in any of the FO's (excluding MZ DLC)

but aliens were there from the start. maybe not live ones but the idea is all the same. fallout contains aliens, like it or not. hang on google search..... yep there in FO2 http://planetfallout.gamespy.com/wiki/Fallout_2_Enemies
i dont see anything wrongwith aliens in fallout, just when there is a whole DLC dedicated to them. maybe i side quest? dont get me wrong i enjoyed Mothership but i just didnt think it fitted in very well with fallout.

And at this point, Wanamingos went extinct courtesy of The Chosen One wiping out their nest in the Redding Mines. So any revival of them would seemingly be retconning established lore, unless they make a logical explanation of their living presence.

No we don t need them, but we do need area 51. It s part of American mystery, and i would be cool if writers/devs made up something for the place. Im not too worried about radiers getting in there, the pre war security would be cutting edge in fo world with some crazed AI running it. They will kill you right now if you just try to go there in real life. So imagine what writers could do there in fo world. Again there does not need to be live aliens there. It s more about gettihg past pre war security and finding out what they did there before the war. I don t even want live aliens, just a chance to see whats there.

Okay my bad, there not aliens then. can we all agree in area 51 there should be aliens referenced? not saying they should be alve, but atleast be somethingthere to connect alens with that place i.e alien power cells.

I would think Are 51 would've been one of the first places taken over by the Enclave or the Brotherhood of Steel.

good point.
but what if the scientists at A51 set the defense system to kill anything that entered the premises?
or how about A51 was never built in the fallout timeline...

It s possible there is no area 51 in fo world. A lot of things r not on that time line doesn t mean they are not there. This all just a theory of mine anyway. I won t cry if there is no area 51, but I think Obsidian would be passing up a chance to all a little fo3 with a real life place that many Americans want to know about. They could answer those questions at least in a video game, and I for 1 think it would be really cool.

im not even american and i want to know what you cheeky lil bastards are hiding in that vault of yours :P
im sure theyll put the equivalent of area 51 in there. and if they do, im sure theyll be aliens in it. when i think of area 51 i think of alien's and reverse enginering alien tech.
