Yes get them, neither are very glitchy, yes you need DosBox.

How the hell did you find them? Do they come with the boxes and manuals?

Arena is http://www.elderscrolls.com/downloads/downloads_games.htm, but if you want the box & manual and stuff, go for it.

Redguard is a decent fun game, but also fairly hard to get to run properly on a modern computer.

No, it doesn't.

For Redguard I recommend using Glidos and VDos32. However Glidos costs $10. There is a free version of it, but you then get a huge 3D logo spinning ingame. Though you could try the tutorial in the sticky here, but I couldn't get that to work at all, however the Dosbox CVS version that's recommended for it was the only one I could use to get Battlespire working properly for some reason.

I enjoyed both of them, though they are quite different to Morrowind and Oblivion, if those are the ES games you started with. I would recommend at least giving them a try.

You don't need Glidos. I got the game to run using the dgvoodoo method on the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Redguard:Installation_guide. It takes time, but it works. You need a mounted image of the CD for the cutscenes to be smoother.

That same site has a method to get it to work on DOSBox, but I did not try it.

I've tried that one several times, but I just couldn't get it working for some reason.
In the end I go tired of the headaches, and decided that $10 isn't really that much. Especially since I got Redguard as a gift from someone, so I hadn't spent any money on it myself.

I only wish that they'd fix the music, it's still good without it but it would sure be better with it.
