I was wondering if Ebony Weapons can break in TES: Arena. They probably can, although since you don't get the slightest idea of the weapon's quality I'm very paranoid and go about repairing my Ebony Longsword pretty much after every Staff Piece quest. It costs a great deal of money and takes several weeks, too. I'm probably wasting my time.

yes they can, but it would take a lot of monsters and bashing doors....i mean like tons of it over a long time. the stuff is near unbreakable, bu tey still do wear over time.

They can definitely break. I did the last quarter of the game with The Ebony Blade and it broke in the middle of my fight with Jagar. Here's what you do: take it to a shop to get repaired, haggle him down to very cheap by lengthening the time he has to do it, then travel across the empire however long it takes to get it finished.

Although I did my main playthough as a Knight, who automatically repairs their weapons. Not the Ebony Blade apparently.

It's too bad todays armor isn't like this... mainly Savior's Hide, that thing is cheaper than fur armor.

Poorly worded FAQ. Correctly worded, it would say that ebony weapons "wear down with use like any other weapon, but wear down the slowest of any other material type". Perhaps I shall go over that FAQ some time.
