My first character on Arena was a Male, Barbarian Nord. I got through the beginning dungeon fine, but everything from there seems to annihilate me with a few hits. It says on my spell list that I cannot cast spells. At all?? I can't use ANY spells? A few restoration spells would be extremely helpful in my situation.

Because of this, I've decided to start over. I've looked through the classes, and I'm thinking about being either a Warrior or a Spellsword. So, I wanted to know of any suggestions of what I should create my character to be. Should I be of a different race, and what should my class be? I'd want to be well-rounded, be able to cast spells as well as be skilled with armor and weapons.

So my final questions would be..

Can my Nord Barbarian cast spells?
Is magic limited to your class?
Can I only pick locks/pickpocket if I am a class of thief?
What type of character is most efficient, and easiest to beat the game with?

magic is class special, warrior cannot cast magic instead they have access to plate mail armour which can be enchanted.

anyone can pick locks, but warriors are better at bashing down doors.


theres really nobest or easier class. Warriors are tanks that Hack & Slash. Thieve sneak and stab then steal. Mages blast with spells then rest to get their points back.

BTW, Warriors cannot cast spells either.
