Arena Confusion

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 2:59 am

Was arena a freeform game? Meaning was it literally just the main quest or could you do loads of side quests and join guilds? Because it was set across Tamriel i would think it would of been pretty cool with side quests. Sorry if i appear to be ignorant i don't know alot about the past games! I'm a morrowind + Oblivion obsess!!!

There's just the mainquest beside a couple of random quests and the possibility to collect a few artifacts like the spellbreaker shield and stuff. Still it's an awesome game and I recommend you to play it.

The random side quests however, are only delivery jobs. No guilds could be joined.

In arena, you also do not have the feeling that you are in Tamriel (only some names of towns and the volcano in Morrowind), it has almost nothing to do with Morrowind and Oblivion.

Daggerfall, however, does everything exactly right, apart from a few bugshere and there.

Few is an understatement, but it is easily the most content full of the Elder Scrolls series. The only complaint I can say I actually have is the dungeon maps.

Nahhh you're wrong. There are also quests where you have to kill a demon or to find someone in a specific dungeon but I suppose you need some reputation to get these jobs. Actually, today I saved some sort of acrobatic who was held prison in a certain dungeon.

I keep on hearing reading people say that, but I never experienced that much bugs, and only one game breaking bug once.

Oh yeah, you're right, I forgot.
I didn't do many of those quests though.

The side quests are not as varied and interesting as the ones in MW and OB, but they are at least unlimited. No guilds, though.

There are few really game breaking bugs, and a lot of glitches, it's a bit random as to when you will experience something. I can go for hours at a time without a single glitch or bug, some times it seems that I have some form of bug or glitch, be it with the game mechanics, graphics, sound or otherwise every few minutes.

I guess I'm just lucky, seeing as I have played DF for almost half a year almost every day.

You can't join guilds, but there are literally infinite side-quests and a free-roaming world to check out.

@ Eruonen: One game-breaking bug is too many.

I've never played a big game that didn't crash at least once except for Doom.

Crashes aren't gamebreaking. Gamebreak is like, something that makes it impossible to progress in the game.

Oh. You young folks and your fancy lingo. Back in my day, there were only bugs. We didn't need all those other words for 'em. Huh!

And get off my lawn!
