Arena Graphics Problem

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 11:41 am

Hey.

I have got DOSBox and I have downloaded an extracted Arena but now I have a problem.

I can run the game but when I press Alt + Enter to go into full screen mode the graphics look bad and unclear.

When in windowed mode the graphics look how they are meant to but as soon as I go into full screen they go bad.

Please help, I really want to be able to play this game in full screen mode! :(

Thanks in advance.

That's normal. You're essentially stretching the window. But nobody plays ARENA for graphics, do they?

Hey, thanks for the reply.

I did actually have a problem but it is now fixed.

I went into the config folder and under sdl where it said output I changed it to "output=overlay" instead of "output=surface".

I have the same problem but when I try to open the folder i get a window telling me that windows explorer can't open the folder and asks what program to use while warning me that i could damege my computer if I pick the wrong program.so what to I use to open the folder and change the output to "output=overlay"?thanks also I'm runing windows 7 64 bit if that matters.

I changed to overlay as well and some other things and the graphics and cursor are so bad I don't even want to play the game how bad is what is to be expected?

Try using opengl, never gave me a problem and the game looks much better. Be also sure to enable antialiasing (I suggest the advmame3x filter).
