I just downloaded Arena from the official site a few days ago, and I finally got it running and was exploring the first dungeon when I came across this blue/black portal looking thing that asked me to answer some questions. After I answered a few questions, the game kicked me out to DOSBox and it said something like Arena V1.06 complete. Is that all there is to the version available for download from the official site? I was kind of hoping it was the whole game

That's a strange error...if you answered the questions correctly you should be teleported out of there. You DO get the whole game with the free download. Just make sure you are getting the correct answers to the questions and you should be ok.

hehe, That's the game protection. Look in your 'Arena' folder for a 'Docs folder, all the answers will be in there.

Oh, haha. So you have to get the 'correct' answers to go on eh? Makes sense why it crashed now I'll look up the answers so I can play the rest of the game. Thanks for the help guys.

Just to add to this rather than making ANOTHER insane little thread for a simple problem...

I seem to permanently be an escorter now. I made one escort mission, and went directly from the quest to purchasing from the same shop after delivering my person. Now, i cannot remove her portrait from the corner of my screen, and sometimes it becomes colorfully garbled and white. Any ideas folks?

How long has it been there? I know that I have been through a dungeons before that require specific keys, and some times you get extra keys beyond what you need. The extra keys stay in the upper left corner of your window for a while but then disappear after sleeping at an inn, etc.

Have you tried just passing a few days or resting at an inn?

I've never had the issue with character portraits staying there...just the keys, which do disappear after some time.

Nope. Gone days now, sleeping in several inns and taking several dungeon dives. Portrait still there.

Have you tried getting another escort quest? Maybe that'll overwrite the remaining portrait (or clear portraits when you turn it in).

curiously it does not, which is why i ask you guys about it. It's becoming a slight nuisance! >.<
