Post » Fri May 27, 2011 11:17 am

I can't get Arena to work on my Vista laptop. I downloaded DOSbox, but I'm having trouble getting it to work. Could someone please help? Thanks in advanced.

Try running DOSBox with administrator privileges.

o heres a step by step here (written by me) :
1. open dos box and type Mount X X:\arena where the x is is the drive arenas in
2. then hit X:\ this will change it from Z:\ to X:\
3. HIt install (if this is already done skip to 5
4. Follow the insuctions of instilation
5. Go to the Arena directory located on your C:\ right click on the ARENA.EXE select properties set the file settings to read only (a check box)
6. Exit and reopen dosbox repeat 1. and 2. only with drive C (so mount c C:\arena)
7. Now type arena and it should be good to go

I did what you said, and it worked to start the program, but when the .exe file ran, it just showed random letters that looked like a font right out of the NES.

Right-click on Arena.bat and choose "Edit".

*EDIT*

If you're having this much trouble, you are welcome to use the DOSBox launcher I am working on. It runs Arena just fine already, and all you have to do is click on the start button. It takes care of everything else. If you want it, PM me and I'll send you a link to the installer.

Oh, I see.

Also, yes, if your launcher is easier to use, then I would like the link. I'll PM you.
