Arena is lagging

I installed Arena shortly after I installed Daggerfall, Daggerfall works fine, but Arena is a slideshow. Did anyone else have this problem and/or know how to fix it?

For some reason Arena is pretty slow for me, too. It works fine if I start it up under Boxer, but if I manually start it under normal DOSBox it's almost unplayable.

For the record, my Boxer config settings for Arena are:

cycles=max
core=dynamic

All of my extended memory settings are set to "false", but they also have hashes in front of them so I don't think they're being used. I'll look into this more later.

As Arena isn't a protected mode DOS program like Daggerfall, it will run at 3000 cycles on the normal core by default in DOSBox. And 3000 cycles is too slow for the game, you'll need to up it to 15000 or so.

Daggerfall, and other protected mode DOS software, automatically run at max cycles on the dynamic core.

Max cycles is a bit too much for Arena. I'd recommend also using the dynamic core instead of the auto one. Compare Arena with each of these and max cycles, you will find things like the combat to be too fast with the latter in effect.

well I don't know if I'm stupid or something is wrong. I've been searching for "dosbox.conf" but can't find it and whenever I try ctrl f8 and f12 it doesn't do anything.
