Arena runs badly

Hi, I've got a weird problem running Arena. With Dosbox (.073) it's running pretty slowly. The mouse is kinda laggy, mostly. I have cycles set on 20000 and I tried setting the core to dynamic but it's still pretty crappy. Also, I don't have sound. I followed the configuration instructions for sound thats on UESP's guide to running TES under Dosbox.

I AM running my dosbox games under a frontend called Dosbox Games Loader (It's actually been working really well so far. It seems awesome.)

The weird thing is, Daggerfall runs smoothly, but Arena doesen't. Does anyone have any advice?

Lower the detail. I think you need an incredible CPU to play Arena smoothly.

Is that because it wasn't optimized as well as Daggerfall?
I've got a 3ghz CPU, is that too crappy?

Thanks for the info.

Odd. I use a 2.66 GHZ CPU (only one core) yet Arena runs perfectly smoothly. In mine, the settings are "CPU Cycles: max" and "frameskip 0". My processor is worse than yours, but I run it smoother. Set it to the way i've set mine and see if it works then.
