Arena in Skyrim?

The Arena quests in Imperial City was wicked fun. I really hope they are added in Skyrim. Anyone else who wants them?

Well, Morrowind had it, Oblivion had it. Fallout 3 lacked, but Fallout New Vegas had two.

Why not?

If it is in I hope they make it harder than the one in OB. WAY to short and the boss? In vanilla OB he was a joke.

I hope the opponents are smarter..... i mean the stupid AI in obliv that ran at you with a melee weapon when you were running backwards with a ranged weapon that couldnt touch you was kinda lame lol

Well you can't backpedal endlessly this time around. But they should have bows or something for a backup weapon. I would set the difficulty to minimum sometimes and let them hit me until their weapons broke lol.

Yeah. It was way too easy, but very interesting. I also loved being the champion and fighting monsters for cash.

Then you'll be pleased to know that running backwards is no longer possible. It made the game too easy and more importantly, looked ridiculous in 3rd person mode. If someone charges you with an axe, you either get out a melee weapon or you get hacked to pieces.

They'd be silly not to have an arena... I hope there's one in every city!

It'd be great to have the Arena back but hopefully there is more choice this time around. I'd rather be able to choose which Arena team I fight for based on the perks they provide. And there should be more teams that just yellow and blue. That was pretty lame. And once you've reached Arena champion you should receive challenges every once in a while to defend your title.

There should totally be a multiplayer option for arena, would add a lot of replay ablilty and is a sensible way to add multiplayer without affecting the story.

the only problem i see with that is that other players would be a much higher level than others

Hopefully with more advanced AI than your regular, run-of-the-mill enemies, since gladiatorial fights are supposed to last a while, for entertainment reasons.

Morrowind didn't really have an arena, at least not an arena questline, unless you got the mod.

And fallout 3 had an arena-esque thing going on in The Pitt.

hopefully they realized after Morrowind that a lack of Arena is very dissapointing, to people like me who went around the Arena Canton looking for a way to sign up for fights.

Actually, it is a good idea and my best friend and I want them. But... How is it going to work out when you die? Where do you spawn? Does he/she get to take your goodies?

I would like co-op just to explore with my friend. Just me and him. Running around killing a bunch of creatures and killing guards.

You could sign up for fights in the Arena Canton. Only in a few special, quest-based circumstances but still.

Personally I thought the Arena was one of Oblivion's weakest points - fun for a while then boring.

Yes, please :)
Loved the Arena -- good source of income and sword practice.
Hated the "reward" at the end, though, and the minotaurs..... hope they've done something 'bout that.

No kidding. You are the champion who has shown himself worthy of slaying the mightiest of men. Now you get to kill simple creatures 1 day a week. But it's ok, you can pass the time by killing your new really devoted fan.

i hope there is an arena but with randomly generated opponents and after you become champion or grand champion you could get people to challenge you

I hope so.
I loved betting of fights. Different types of fights would be awesome. 2v2, 1v1, Human vs Animal. Also I'd love to intermingle with the crowd.
I want it to feel like a huge sporting event.

It would be great to have an arena. I think it would be pretty awesome if you could also fight against other PLAYERS online (over steam possibly?) in the arena, not just the AI. Of course the loser would not die in that case, but, let's say, he/she could only lose consciousness. The problem is, of course, that such a feature would probably be very costly, considering the required effort.

Hell yes!

Think about becoming the champion of the arena of a certain city then you'd get to go fight the champions of the other cities or sometimes they would come over challenging you ect.
With the new combat system I sure hope there are more chances to do closed battle with one or a few humanoid opponents. The quests involved would also be great,
