I'd suggest a Dunmer Spellsword. Anyways, pure mages don't last very long, it's difficult and rewarding, but newbies shouldn't try it.

Just because you won't have any fun and we don't want another thread filled with newbie questions. I suppose you create a spellsword, it's one of the best classes in arena and you still can cast spells!

Can a dunmer mage survive for long in arena

Any class/race/six combination is survivable if you know how.

This particular combo is somewhat more difficult, as dark elves are not particularly given to magic. But it can be done, for sure. Make sure you put your level increases into Int, get lots of loot you can sell so you can buy Potions of Restore Power, and make your own spells.

well people were actually out at the time unlike every time i loaded the save were there were only things that attacked me while i was like are you going to tell me or not goblin

It's a statue. Plus, things only attack you at night. Just go outside the walls and rest until it's daytime if anything attacks you.

Arena takes a lotta getting used to, especially if you've only played more modern games. It's worth it, though!
