[WIP] Argonia

Post » Sat Jun 19, 2010 4:25 am

I can see TRYeti's concerns though, you haven't really got anyone working with you atm, and yet you're taking on 2 provinces. It's madness! :ahhh:
Couldn't you help out with Province: Cyrodiil?

After I finish making the resources for the Imperial City and the Great Forest, maybe a months time, Im going to announce the project and open a forum for it and take on a team, working on modelling and running Cyrodiil while working on Argonia privately. To be honest, I just enjoy modding in this fashion alot more.

While I eagerly await Province:Cyrodiil's release, I'd like to see my own vision of it brought to fruition.

Well I guess you have your own style. It certainly hasn't effected the quality of your work :goodjob:

Wow seriously? This is looking sharp, man. Good artistry. Why is it I never seem to notice your topics? I'm going to have to search for all your projects on here now haha.

There are going to be plenty of shacks for the poor, and they arent going to be limited to the Waterfront either =-P

So heres what Im thinking. Im going to build the exterior IC walls today and place them in game, Im going to mold the rest of the Isle and cover it with grass, trees, and rocks. Then Im going to officially open this project up pubically with its own thread and begin recruitment.

I love your work mate, it's amazing, but please don't make your screens at midnight (gametime), on 70% of the Cyrodiil Screens in this thread I see just black with a few brighter objects.

Nope, all coming through crystal clear on my end in nice spectacular detail. Sounds like a EU issue

Some of your screens look very beautiful like in the morning or noon but the most are deep dark...I guess it must be dusk or later...I really try, but I can't see any details

Video one of two of what Ive accomplished so far on Cyrodiil. Before critiquing, I already know not everything lines up perfect, some models need uv's altered, some need em to be done completely, textures can svck, objects may float. View with caution =-P. Second video is uploading now and may take an hour anbd a half.

A few updates,

1) I got about half of the Ayleid exterior models in game.
2) I found out it takes 10 minutes 8 seconds to run 32 cells with a speed and athletics at 100 haha
3) Ive decided the Imperial City will have to be an interior as exterior, with the scope of the city even my semi-powerful gaming rig wont be able to handle all that
4) This project is now open for anybody who'd like to give a helping hand. The positions most needed are modeller and uv mapper, but landscaper, texture artists, writers can be put to work immediatly, interior makers will be needed within the next week or two, and questmakers, scripters within the month. Lemme know if you are interested in helping.

And heres a screenshot just cuz.

First off, let me say I love this mod. Iv'e always wanted to see Argonia, and I think your work on Cyrodiil is also phenomenal. With that in mind, id'e love to be able to work on this project.

I could, possibly, do landscaping. I don't have a TON of experience, and no released mods to show off my skills; however, I'm willing to show you a small landscape I made if you want to see how well I may perform at the job. This would be my favored position, as I love making landscapes in games like Farcry (Yes, I know, not really "modding," but very similar to Morrowind's landscape editor), and DnD (Which is a different beast entirely, top down views are easier to make, but you still have to have skill at object placement). Besides, the only way I can get better is to practice, right?

I know for sure that I could work as a writer for quests and dialog, I have extensive familiarity with both through DnD.

If there is anything besides these jobs that I can do to help with the mod, I'm probably willing. Note that i'm still learning how to model and texture, so those aren't really options.

I hate you.... Now I'll never be able to stop playing this game with content like this getting worked on.

Looks amazing, good luck with the project. It's people like you who keep the game alive.

That's almost exactily how I envision Argonia/Blackmarsh. Great stuff Zackg.

Though the swamp could use alittle more variation in fauna. Maybe some shorter trees and water plants
