[Wipz] Argonia Thread II

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 11:43 am

Wow great concepts. Zackg is one of the main members of Province: Cyrodiil and has probably done most of his modding for that project recently. I know that he is still planning on doing this project and I myself hope to be able to help out here. That being said Dragomir you should come by P:C and drum up some Cyrodiil concepts. I know that with your Skyrim and Argonia concepts that I have seen your work will be very useful as we move forward. Your English is also fine mate, you have nothing to worry about there.

I made some concepts for Cyrodiil too (mostly Colovians), but they're not ready do be performed yet. Of course I want to join this project, cause making a lore-friendly Cyrodiil is definetly a thing that I really want to take part in ;) Soon I'll appear on P:C's forum with a bunch of concepts.

I have no idea about English grammar, so it's better to prepare everyone if I post something silly (accidents happens). ;P

Anyway, I made a little new concept for Argonia today. It's a Hist temple of Stormhold (or another big city), but I'm not sure if the pyramidal architecture is what the Argonian temple should look like. On the other hand Hist grove is quite unique place, so it might have an unique architecture.

A nice concept, but I think it looks more like a lost temple of Kothringi. I was working on some Kothringi ruins. They are still untextured, but I thought of aztec and maya architecture while working on them.

Both destroyed end untouched by the time versions.

And the temple, based on your picture:

You're pretty fast ;) I think the pyramid could be placed in the centre of the temple complex, and the rest of the buildings could surround it. Anyway, I think the pyramid should be filled with earth, and on these steps some kind of plants could grow. Steps opened on the top, to let the rainwater soak in the earth inside the structure.

Actually, I've created these models (except the temple) a wile ago. And here is a ruined Cothringi house with a tree on top.

New Year, hopefully new results. I have so much less time to work on anything anymore but who knows what could change. Anyways, here's the latest from Argonia.

This is looking very good :)

I've just been lurking on this thread, but I was reading through http://www.imperial-library.info/content/infernal-city-lore-notes and it reminded me of this project. You've probably already seen that, but if you haven't perhaps you could get a few ideas from it? There's a lot of stuff on Argonia there. ^o^

Fair enough :] I was just pointing it out in the hopes of inspiring you.

Well, happy modding! I'll go back to lurking, hope the mod is progressing well for you.

ZackG, you use Blender correct? Can you point me in the direction of the best way to learn Blender? I want to increase my modding capacity in an effort to help the province mods in more ways than building and reviewing interiors (though I'm quite proud of my work in this small area), and drawing concept art. One major hindrance to each and every one of these projects is a lack of modelers so I want to learn this skill and be able to contribute in this way as well to realize my dream of seeing all of Tamriel in TES: III.

I can't believe all you do is generate trees and expect people to be impressed :homestar: [that's a joke by the way :D]

Awesome trees zackg, I also like how you detailed the trunks. Looking forward to seeing more!

Your work is looking great, Zackg!

Do you envision some of the regions of Black Marsh to look like the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EqFUwp682Aw&feature=related scene from "The Neverending Story"? Do you think you would be able to create an exterior landscape that looked that foggy, swampy and dreary?

And someone correct me if I'm wrong, but the Hist are the walking/talking ancient trees in Argonia, right?

Yes I do. Murkwood is one region in particular that will be extremely swampy.

Lore is extremely vague on the hist and their nature. I've taken a certain interpretation to them that I think will be both true to lore and surprising to the player.

They don't walk or talk, but they are ancient and intelligent.

Absolutely not lol. The next update will show all the plants, a few architectural pieces, and then some Darkmoor shots. The Hist is too...idk...mystic to show quite yet.

No I have not, but I did start on a Vivec texture replacer.

And Argonia

hello, zackg,

It is amazing, what your are doing! Really. And you also read my mind, because I believe, that one day, all Elder Scrolls fans can walk through the all regions of Tamriel, using Morrowind graphics. Very interesting in it.
Also I want to ask you, if you have official website of this mod? Or you just post news here? If you have, can you link it?

Thanks in advance.

Regards :)
