Argonian armor

If Agonians had their own race specific armor (which I'm hoping for) then what do you think it will be like?

Considering Argonians can live underwater and their homeland is mostly swamp, I'm reckoning that their armor will be water resistant.

I'm guessing tit will be along the lines of the dreugh armor in Morrowind or crossed with the dark brotherhood armor from Oblivion, seeming that many Argonians are hatched to be assassins. Dreugh was one of the best armors in Morrowind.

In fact considering that dreugh armor only contained the parts that argonians could wear and considering the lore of argonians into Morrowind I wouldn't be surprised if Dreugh armor was actually an Argonian made armor. Surely if it was a Dunmer armor it would have boots and a full face like all the other Dunmer armors.

I don't see argonians using metal plate armors but rather armor made from animal hides stitched carefully together giving full movement and lightness to swim, creep and jump. Morrowind neighbors Black marsh to the north and looking at some of the creatures in Morrowind such as Dreugh, Guar, Kagouti etc I'm sure that Black marsh will have some similar creatures for the Argonians to be able to construct some good armors like the dreugh armor.

any one else got any thoughts?

Why would something with essentially leather skin wear leather armour?

(Not stating as fact, just an idea posed as a question)

They are reptiles so I'm guessing they have scales. I thought leathers come from mammals and not reptiles.
dreugh I thought was more like shells for plates and not scales. I don't see a dreugh as reptile looking but more crab / lobster crossed with an octopus looking

Perhaps leather wasn't an accurate term. But if you've ever tried to slice a snake open (I have actually :D) its not the most forgiving material.

That said, perhaps the argonians just aren't that developed?
I've honestly never looked into their lore all that much, but from what I've read in game books, Black marsh seems to be a bit of a dive.

Read the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:The_Armorer%27s_Challenge, dummies.

In this particular instance, Katariah and the Council were discussing the unrest in Black Marsh and the massacre of Imperial troops outside the village of Armanias. The sodden swampland and the sweltering climate, particular in summertide, would endanger the troops if they wore their usual armor.

"I know a very clever armorer," said Katariah, "His name is Hazadir, an Argonian who knows the environments our army will be facing. I knew him in Vivec where he was a slave to the master armorer there, before he moved to the Imperial City as a freedman. We should have him design armor and weaponry for the campaign."
Minglumire gave a short, barking laugh: "She wants a slave to design the armor and weaponry for our troops! Sirollus Saccus is the finest armorer in the Imperial City. Everyone knows that."

...

The two warriors met before the Empress and Imperial Council in the arena, which had been flooded slightly to simulate the swampy conditions of Black Marsh. From the moment Saccus saw Eul in his suit of heavy ebony and blazing dai-katana and Beraid in his collection of dusty, rusted lizard-scales and spear from Hazadir's shop, he knew who would win. And he was right.

The first blow from the dai-katana lodged in Beraid's soft shield, as there was no metal trim to deflect it. Before Eul could pull his sword back, Beraid let go of the now-flaming shield, still stuck on the sword, and poked at the joints of Eul's ebony armor with his spear. Eul finally retrieved his sword from the ruined shield and slashed at Beraid, but his light armor was scaled and angled, and the attacks rolled off into the water, extinguishing the dai-katana's flames. When Beraid struck at Eul's feet, he fell into the churned mud and was unable to move. The Empress, out of mercy, called a victor.

Any race going to war will go equipped. The argonian armies will have some form of arsenal. They didn't take Morrowind from the dunmer warlords with just hand-to-hand and sticks.

Dreugh = 40 AR (Medium armor)
Dark brotherhood = 30 AR (light armor)

Dunmer armors
Chittin = 10 AR (light armor)
Bonemold = aprox 18 AR (Medium armor)
Indoril (the top Dunmer race armor) = 45 AR (Medium armor)

Imperial armors
Imperial studded leather & Newtscale = 10 AR (light armor)
Imperial chain & dragonscale = aprox 18 AR (Medium armor)

Other race specific armors
Orcish = 30 AR (heavy armor)
Dwarven = 20 AR (heavy armor)
Nordic fur = 5 AR (light armor)
Nordic wolf = 10 AR (light armor)
Nordic bear = 15 AR (medium armor)
Nordic mail = 66 AR (heavy armor)

non-racial armors (I'm guessing mined and produced within the Empire by Imperial trading companies only for those that can afford it)
Glass = 50 AR
Ebony = 60 AR
