Argonian Beards

Post » Thu Jun 06, 2013 5:52 pm

I want to know if there could be a lore-friendly explanation for why Argonians don't have facial hair. Or facial spikes, or whatever.

Can an Argonian's skin slowly soften as he grows older (especially around the chin and face), so that some suppressed hair roots start growing through the scales? Maybe it would be a short beard (like a goat's)?

I don't know much about Argonian lore (though I want to). Anyone want to answer this for me?

Ever hear of a bearded dragon? As in the type of lizard? https://www.google.com/search?gs_rn=16&gs_ri=psy-ab&suggest=p&cp=7&gs_id=3z&xhr=t&q=bearded+dragon&bav=on.2,or.r_qf.&bvm=bv.47534661,d.dmQ&biw=1600&bih=796&um=1&ie=UTF-8&hl=en&tbm=isch&source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=j-GvUf34F-Ls0gHdiIDwBg

That might work.

Maybe. I was kind of hoping the goatee mentioned above would biologically work.

The Argonians growing some form of hair (Outside of Lycanthropy of course) is probably unlikely. Hell, Skyrim gives them feathers growing out of their noggins.

With that out of the way, Argonian biology is seemingly quite malleable to the Hist.

Eh, best you MAY get is feathers, in terms of a form of hair, as seen on their heads. Otherwise, spikes. Also, your location thing is taking up half the forum. Trim it down.

i could see argonians having a chin spike or maybe facial feathers (probably look pretty dorky though). I think more likely would be that their necks/cheeks/chin might have a differnt pigment in it to give off the look of stubble.

they are lizards, and reptiles don't typically grow hair as far as i know, granted lizards also don't tend to have bosoms...but fantasy game

p.s. your location text is pretty long, and the gag really isn't worth taking up four times what you type

I like to imagine the most they could get is those whiskers catfish gets, but they'd be more an extension of the body than hair. For the beard, I'm pretty sure I've seen concept art or note of seafaring Argonians with small amounts of barnacles on their faces making it look like pseudo-beard.

OP, can you please shorten your location? it makes your posts the size of some entire thread pages
