Argonian Vs Bosmer for a stealth assassin type of character

Post » Fri Mar 25, 2016 8:56 am

I am conflicted between playing as an Argonian or Bosmer for my stealth class.

My build is as follows:

Sign: Thief

Major:

- Alchemy

- Blade

- Illusion

- Light armor

- Marksman

- Alteration(if he is Bosmer, because of water breath and feather)

- Mysticism(If he is argonian, since alteration isnt as useful for argonian)

- Sneak

Pros for picking Argonian:

* Water breathing and +10 strength over a Bosmer, meaning I don't have to pick up alteration (for water breathing and feather), instead I can pick up mysticism

* +10 str means I get higher damage output

* Argonians are taller, so have faster movement speed

Pros for picking Bosmer

* I really like this race lore wise

* +10 endurance over argonain(but this isnt a big boon for me, I'd rather take +10 str)

What do you guys think?

I'd roll dice or flip a coin. Sometimes this even helps me decide!

Statistics really don't matter much, if at all, in the long run. It makes a little bit of difference in the beginning of the game, but the beginning of the game is the easiest part, so the differences just don't matter that much. And by later in the game, the stats will have pretty well evened out.

Just listen to your gut. Whatever the reason, whether it makes sense or not, you undoubtedly have some preference for the character you want to make right now. Just make that one and don't worry about the details (or, if you just can't bring yourself to choose, do as Renee says and flip a coin), then take that character out and do stuff and just let whatever happens happen. That's the real charm of this game, IMO.

And if, for whatever reason, that character doesn't seem satisfying, just make a hard save (so you can go back to it later if you decide you want to), and make another character and try that one. There's no reason that you can't play both, and as many more as you might want.
