Argonian children

You do not need to hatch from an egg! An egg by definition is a female gamete.

And yet, that is the difference with the Argonians right?

Their "eggs" are still formed around the growing creature as it develops into fruition, and is ruptured while still inside the mother's body when ready to hatch, right...? If this is the case, how come we don't see female Argonians with egg pods attached to them?

Our eggs morph into the actual child, but the physical egg is gone.

Well, it would just be like looking at the spawn of a demon or something. Elves - I can deal with it. But the beast races? I'd imagine they'd look like Komodo Dragons walking on 2 legs. Straight up weird. As for Khajiit, I don't really know, but that would look pretty weird too.

Hmm... indeed.

I imagine adolescent Khajiit would look something like this: http://www.momdot.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/kitten-in-a-bag.jpg

Ahhhh!!!

That makes no sense. Explain please.

It depends. Weather permiting, they lay eggs. If its cold or they otherwise can't, they have live birth.

I have a feeling the elf children will be creepy. They should all have the dunmer voice from Morrowind to make it even weirder. "Greetings travellaah"

Don't the female argonians have boobs , suggesting that they are mammals?

It doesn't make any sense!

Argonians are ovoviviparous. [Wow. I was SURE I'd never have to use that word again.] They don't lay eggs like reptiles.
Note that Lady Argonians have big bumps on their chests.
form Pete Hines

Men and Mer assume much about Argonians, but who among them has ventured deep into Black Marsh and lived to tell about it? They assume that Argonians lay eggs because they resemble the tree-dwelling lizards that scurry about on four legs. Yet they assume Argonians have live births, because the females have briasts with which they might svckle their young. Perhaps it is both, as necessity demands. All live at the whim of the Great Root.
and
Never underestimate the adaptability of Argonians, or, more specifically, the power of the Hist to allow Argonians to adapt.

I wouldn't expect to hear an Argonian born in Skyrim (or on Solstheim, for that matter) mention being hatched. Nor would I expect to hear more transient Argonians (say, members of a small, nomadic tribe) speak about laying eggs. However, in warmer climates, in places with established, stable, and permanent communities, you would likely see a great number of eggs.

Both of those are from Mark Nelson.

I hope there are more races of children then just Nords, i would love to see little Orcs bullying some little Bosmer kids, and some snotty Altmer picking on some kid. I hope Bethesda does stuff like this!

Frogs are amphibians, not reptiles. Very different.

In ovovivaparity, the eggs hatch inside the mother.

The big distinction between ovovivaparous birth and live birth:

In ovovivaparity the egg contains all the food necessary to sustain the developing embryo
In live birth the embryo receives nutrients continuously from the mother via the placenta

So for true accuracy, Argonians should not have navels, since they would never have had an umbilical cord. Technically they shouldn't have mammaries either, but then again the platypus is weird too.

Argonians are Argonians. They have features of reptiles, fish, amphibians, and mammals. You can't assume things just by looking at them. They're weird.

Would it be safe to say that they are the platypus of the world then?^_^

little lizards or kittens, cute but not creepy.

Better then colorful ponies.

I agree that they are probably cute instead of being creepy.
