Argonian Kids?

Post » Tue Oct 26, 2010 8:54 pm

I'll be squealing in delight if I see kid Argonians and Khajits. I imagine the kid Khajits will be like kittens. :3 Mewling and purring.

As for Orc children? Well, I might find them repulsive, but that doesn't mean I'm gonna let one get hurt if I can help it.

I'm pretty sure there would be a lack of Altmer and to a lesser extent dunmer children, as it makes sense that a race that lives for 100's of years wouldn't give birth as often as humans, otherwise they would overrun the world

I'd like a few minor side-quests involving children. Stopping bullying and stuff like that.

I will defend those ugly little buggers with my life. :toughninja: Orc children must have hard lives outside the Orisinium. They grow up faster then the other children and add that to the fact orcs and nords have bad blood. They must have no friends. :sadvaultboy:

well its been two hundred years since oblivion, i think we can afford a few elven children...

...also, if you forgot... IF bethesda is taking into account the events of the infernal city and consider them canon, then morrowind will be in hell most likely, and vvardenfell exploded, more or less.

so i think the dunmer could afford to have several children going about in other provinces.

im really curious about that, if they'll add the infernal city's events into the lore... because that would likely change the course of the games from now on, most likely... a non-dragonborn emperor, morrowind more or less done for, etc.

Wouldn't that almost make them mammals then? What is next, they are warmed blooded as well? :)

They must be.
Otherwise they couldn't survive in cold areas. Which they can.

No, I am suggesting they could also be ovoviviparous, along with being oviparous

They are ovoviviparous.
Argonians are ovoviviparous. [Wow. I was SURE I'd never have to use that word again.] They don't lay eggs like reptiles.
Note that Lady Argonians have big bumps on their chests.

I'm pretty sure some snakes give birth tolive young.

Yup, and in some species they may even compete and eat one-another while still in the womb (or whatever it's called).

...and will baby khajhit just be cats?

No. Khajiit kids would probably look like any other khajiit, depending on which type of khajiit he is, but smaller. The type of khajiit that is born varies depending on the moon cycles.

Nah, mamals have hair, not scales

Khajiit kids would be cute. I wonder if they purr.......
and chase their own tales? :twirl:

No, I am suggesting they could also be ovoviviparous, along with being oviparous
mode=cliffclavin Aye. Some sharks are born inside the mother, and eat the other eggs and babies before birth. Only the strongest is born : :trophy: /cliffclavin

forgot about argonians and khajiit... their kids might actually look kind of cute.
the elven children should look interesting, the dunmer ones, mostly.
also, bosmer are pretty short, will their children be smaller than other children?
...what about nords? will their kids be the largest?
hm, im kinda curious about how the different kids will look in this game, now... they better have children of all kinds, i dont wanna just see a couple human races have kids!
...orc children... think they'll pick fights with others for making fun of em?
But but, wil lthey all be voiced by the same actor? :P

Actually dependent upon the phase of the moon they are born some khajiit are merely giant tigers, (though with normal intelligence) so they would be nothing more than kittens.
Though I imagine the other khajiit look like little bipedal kittens.

Argonians are born from eggs. Argonians call their children hatchlings.

Others call them breakfast

I thought all Argonians were born in Black Marsh, then migrated when they were old enough, cause i can remember Teinnava from the dark brotherhood saying something about it.. I'm not sure though..

Skyrim is probably not going to be as multi-cultural as Cyrodiil. I wouldn't be surprised if the only children we see are human.

This.

And it's probably for the best as well. I honestly can't imagine baby Orcs, Khajits or Argonians.

My problem with the beast races (and Orcs) in general, for this kind of game, is that these sorts of mythological creatures are supposed to be intangible and unexplained, that's kind of what myth is. That's okay when it's The Lord of the Rings and your only relationship to Orcs and other monstrous creatures is killing them, but with Elder Scrolls we get into the area of domestic life. So you get the awkward questions like "What do Khajits do for fun?" "Erm, chase a ball of string..."

Maybe I'm just lacking imagination, but it's certainly a big design challenge to factor in some of the "stranger" races' children without getting a little silly.
