Argonian Kids?

...and will baby khajhit just be cats?

Haha omg! If they have them upright but with the ability to go on all fours and run around, that would be terribly cute!

This.

And it's probably for the best as well. I honestly can't imagine baby Orcs, Khajits or Argonians.

My problem with the beast races (and Orcs) in general, for this kind of game, is that these sorts of mythological creatures are supposed to be intangible and unexplained, that's kind of what myth is. That's okay when it's The Lord of the Rings and your only relationship to Orcs and other monstrous creatures is killing them, but with Elder Scrolls we get into the area of domestic life. So you get the awkward questions like "What do Khajits do for fun?" "Erm, chase a ball of string..."

Maybe I'm just lacking imagination, but it's certainly a big design challenge to factor in some of the "stranger" races' children without getting a little silly.

I agree, but I think that mentality would go only to witnessing the birth, or the infant stages exclusively. A couple of pre-adolescent versions of each race should be no big deal, in my opinion. They'll have developed to the point where it won't really spoil the mystery. But, yeah, maybe Khajiit and Argonian children should be left out, but I think Orsimer oughtta stay. There's no real mystery to their reproduction, really. Khajiit have the Ja'Kha'jay(Lunar Lattice), and Argonians' forms vary depending on "how many times they lick the tree" or whatever. Orcs are just elves cursed with ugly, for the most part.
Also, even if elves mated as often as humans, they produce children much less often. Hard to impregnate an elf, so that'd be a real reason against any mer child appearing.
Basically, humans are all we're likely to see, and for good, lore based reason.

I doubt that, there will probably be kids in sections of the world that dont allow weapons such as cities. Designing NPC bodies, movements and having it corralate with the world is a hard thing to do (especially for Bethesda who up until now have always had their NPCs float over the world surface with only slight interaction with it). So I'm guessing there will be only human kids from Nords, Imperials, etc.

I'd hope and imagine that there will be kids of all races, probably in similar proportions to advlts.

Actually dependent upon the phase of the moon they are born some khajiit are merely giant tigers, (though with normal intelligence) so they would be nothing more than kittens.

Actually, Khajiit seem to start off as kittens, if one is to take inference from the book, and become the breed they were born under as they grow older. Plus, it would be very...painful if the cat breed gave birth to something the size of a baby horse.

They are ovoviviparous. - Pete Hines

Yeah, I know, I just forgot where I heard this. Thanks for digging it up, as I am too lazy.

A lot of people seem to confuse children with infants. We'll see kids at age around 10, not babies, and so children of all races (if we get them for all 10) with most likely look like smaller versions of their advlt counterparts (no kittens/cubs or tiny lizards)

That being said, I'd love to see some behavioural differences in kids from different races. I realise I'm going into generalisations an all, but imagine talking to a stuck-up Altmer child looking down his nose at you, or getting pickpocketed by a small Khajit child (their parents use them because they're smaller and more agile, and if they're caught the punishment won't be so harsh as for an advlt :D )

Even in the unlikely event that kids are not included for all races, with child models actually present, this is something that can be very easily fixed by modders--they won't need entirely new meshes like Children of Morrowind did.

Eh, infant khajiit do seem to be kittens from what was seen in the Infernal City. I'm just deducing that it goes from kitten to the form they were born under as they age, turning more man-like if they're an Ohmes/Ohmes-Raht, a cat/man with Suthay and Cathay, cat with the cat forms, and big tigers with the Senche/Senche-Raht forms.

Plus, it'd be very hard to birth human-like babies if the khajiit in question was the kitty version, and really difficult for the Senche forms if it wasn't a Senche/Senche-Raht.

This is one part of the game where I don't give a damn about Lore. Let there be kids of all races and genders.

I wonder will there be actual babies too, or just children. Because as everyone is saying, baby Khajiit would be the epitome of cuteness!

In another thread I mentioned whether I wondered if we'd see an age spectrum or just kids, teenagers, and maybe babies. I hope at the very least we see more than just kids, but either way it's a start.

I'd imagine all Khajiit breeds look a lot like cats as kittens. Major "D'aww!!" right there ^_^

Just want to throw this out, imagine a cat giving birth to a tiger cub that is the size of a baby horse. Yeah, that is why I think khajiit start off as household kittens.

Does that mean we'll see Argonians with eggs?

It is actually apparent that Argonians are odd creatures, and can both lay eggs OR give live birth, depending on the climate. A cold climate forces live birth, while a warm climate encourages eggs.

Well, I understand that Skyrim is going to be populated mostly by Nords, but I believe that Bethesda should include children from all the races, since they implemented children in the first place. No cutting corners in this one.

Aren't Argonians cold blooded? The idea of an Argonian in Skyrim suddenly strikes me as ridiculous...

Also, I want more Kahjiit variants.

They are, more or less. Then they grow into whatever variant the moon phase decides.

Well, it was confirmed that all ten races would be in Skyrim. And with the Hist, anything is possible.

Wouldn't that almost make them mammals then? What is next, they are warmed blooded as well? :)

Well they will have to be warm-blooded to survive in Skyrim. So I'm guessing Argonians are warm-blooded. I don't remember there ever being mention of them being cold-blooded in the past unless you count cold-blooded murderers.

Well, cold-blooded killer sure does apply to a character I once made in Morrowind who practically slaughtered the entire island. That was fun.

I can't help but picture an argonian kid chasing a khajiit kid up a tree.

I can't help but picture little nord lads and girls with mustaches while wielding axes.
