Argonian Nerevarine

How realistic is it for the Nerevarine to be an Argonian? Would the Dunmer really rally behind him?

I'm sure it would be difficult to convince many in House Dres, and even with the title of Hortator I'm sure quite a number in Telvanni wouldn't accept this. However the Nerevarine is supposed to be an outsider so this is somewhat expected and that's why gaining the various titles and support is so important in the major quest.

Well, how realistic is it for an argonian to be a magister of the Telvanni (I'm ignoring being archmagister), hold many many slaves, is the nerevarine, defeated Alamenxia, and Hiricine? Not so much, but if the game allows it without cheating, then by the Chaos gods, the nerevarine is a sick, sociopathic, slave owning, Telvanni magister and nerevarine!

An Argonian Nerevarine is incredibly ironic. I doubt Indoril, Dres or Telvanni would accept him/her really. I think it would probably be a push for the other two to do so as well.

You know that made me think of an excellent point. There aren't really any villainous Argonians in TES. Sure there are Lizard adversaries and various thieves and murderers, but none of them are really portrayed in an unsympathetic light like, say, certain Altmer or Bretons or Nords. Even some Khajiit. Interesting.

Want to Become Part of House Telvanni?

Outsiders learning of the rabid isolationist and outlander-hating temperament of House Telvanni wizards often assume it would be impossible to obtain positions in service to House Telvanni.

Nothing could be further from the truth.

For example, since the Telvanni vigorously defend the right to own slaves, and since they keep many Argonian and Khajiit as slaves, many Argonians and Khajiit assume they would not be accepted for service with House Telvanni.

Not true. Telvanni accept all races as candidates for membership.

I was referring more towards my nerevarine, who is a sick, sociopathic, slave owning, Telvanni magister and nerevarine argonian! And I am [censored] proud of it!

The Telvanni don't care much about race. Neloth hates everyone equally, Therana is insane, Dratha just hates men, Gothren distrusts outsiders, Baladas doesn't care, and Aryon is open-minded. And race isn't as important them as power; they respect Skink-in-Tree's-Shade more than most members of the Mages Guild because he's an intelligent and powerful mage.

It's still the most inferior of races to the dunmer being one of the heads. And that he also owns slaves, even his own people.

There's nothing implausible about an Argonian owning slaves. Most probably oppose slavery, but there's always a few that think differently.

Well there was Tul, who was not only working for the Camonna Tong, he was seeking to kill a man who helped slaves escape. By posing as a slave.
