This is a question that I'm sure has been asked, but it's been bugging me. I know it's just a game, and that I shouldn't really look too far into it, but curiosity overtook me. Why would Argonian females have briasts? They have a reptilian appearance, though in practice are more like amphibians, but mammary glands are supposed to be a mammalian thing. They are modified sweat glands, which a creature with scales wouldn't have, as they would rely on other methods to regulate body temperature (panting, sunning, etc.)

I just can't think of a reason besides Bethesda using the age-old "If it's supposed to be female, give it boobs" tactic.

The answer when you have questions about Argonian physiology is always the HIst, until we get something better.

It could be that Argonian females are naturally briastless and develop briasts only after prolonged exposure to mammalian females. The method of action would probably be absorption of human/mer/Khajiiti pheromones through the skin. This isn't as far-fetched as it sounds -- humans do exude pheromones, and amphibians are really really sensitive to environmental chemistry, due to their ability to absorb things through their skin.

(Biological parenthetical: Urban and suburban ponds contain a lot more estrogen/progestorone/other female hormone than rural ponds, because human females excrete a small amount of estrogen in their urine. As a result, frogs that live in urban or suburban ponds often contain a higher proportion of females to males than rural ponds, and the males are less virile. Urban and suburban ponds also contain way more caffeine than rural ponds. I don't know what effect this has on the frogs.)
