Look at that tail! It is one hefty tail, I hope they stay that big in the game and they don't shrink.

Answer in spoilers for those who haven't finished the book.

No.. those were being controlled by Umbriel... when the city vanished, all of the undead would have just collapsed from being too far away from the city.. It was explained around half way through the book.. (just finished it so it is still fresh in my mind)

Morrowind fell to the Argonians somewhere between the end of the Oblivion siege and the beginning of the book which took place only 40 years later, probably just after the Red Year.
