Argonian Voice Acting

Post » Wed Nov 30, 2011 1:30 pm

Maybe it's just me but I have to ask. Why do Argonians sound like normal people? I haven't spoken to any khajiit yet so i can't comment on them but Argonians sound like regular people. What happened to that cool scaly accent voice they had in Oblivion? Seemed really weird to me. Also I have literally seen only one Argonian in the whole game. One. Anyone else find they're pretty rare to see?

Yeah I have noticed the normal type voice. As for argonians being rare im pretty sure it has to do with lore. Probably not many lizard dudes running around with snowy weather etc. Im just guessing at this by the way.

Not too strange since this is the land of the Nords...

Argonian voices seem fine to me. I don't know what it is, but all of a sudden I love Argonians.

I suppose I just havent done enough exploration. I dunno to me the voice is weird it really doesn't suit the Argonians at all.

The voice surprised me at first, but it grew on me. I wish it was more beast like though, the khajiit voices are still more like the old ones but different.

I like their voices, and I think it somehow fits. Not entirely sure why, but I think it's an improvement.

The Khajiit sound like regular people too. I normally always play a Khajiit but this game ruined that for me. They sound like humans. Not to mention that I couldn't create an All Black Khajiit. They have claw x4 to unarmed but unarmed isn't a skill; wtf is that?.

I assume you mean the male Argonians? The female sounds just like the ones back in Oblivion. To be honest, I love the new voice acting. Sure it doesn't sound quite as "lizardy" I guess, but neither does it sound like a voice actor trying too hard to be a different creature. It sounds smoother but still with a touch of the not-quite-human, I think it's awesome

I'm a die hard Argonian and Khajiit fan, and they sound great to me!
I love how the beast races don't all sound the same now. Argonians sound like lizards, and Khajiit sound like cats.

The female Khajiit voice, it seems,is the same as the one in Morrowind.

Which is great.

A lot of the races have completely different voices then in Oblivion. Argonians had an almost Russian accent, but in a raspy lizard voice. They sound very normal in Skyrim.

argonians do indeed sound more human in this game perhaps the cold weather is easier on there vocal cords rest assured though when elder scrolls black marsh rolls around expect thick accents with the argonians which there will be many. but i rather like the argonian voices in skyrim they usually sound very calm and collected as most argonians are until you get on there bad side.

The farther from the Hist, the less beastly they are, it seems.
I remember reading about this on an in-game book.

From what I have seen, the females sound and talk similar to past games, though the males in general sound more adjusted to talking/acting more like normal people. The only one that really sounded a bit more reptilian, that I have seen so far was Jaree-ra, who has a bit of a hiss or sss at the end of some of the things he says.

I think they sound fine, though some of my friends find the new male voice "alarmingly" appealing.
