Arizona Killer instant failure

Post » Sat Jul 23, 2011 10:23 pm

so finally i've gotten to the end of this Legion playthrough and i've found that every time i do the surgery on Caesar and he gives me the Arizona Killer quest, it fails instantly. i haven't been able to find any references to this on the wiki, needless to say, its pretty awesome. it's not like this invalidates everything i've done up to this point, and i also wasn't looking forward to that quest

Were you trying to do as many quests as possible and saved him earlier?

no i was working my way up to this. put 60 hours into it so far and was ready to do the battle of hoover dam so i did the Tumor quest and as soon as Caesar gave me the Arizona Killer quest it instantly failed. i reloaded and tried again a few times, tried killing Caesar and getting the quest from lucius, always instant failure. i travelled to the spot where cato hostilius spawns to see if maybe he was getting killed as soon as he spawns but theres just a campfire and a sleeping bag with no trace of anyone anywhere. i had killed the NCR who are usually in the area before this anyway so theres not really any threats around there. this svcks :sadvaultboy:

I don't think it is mandatory though. Doesn't Caesar just say you're a failure and then says time for battle.

Lol, 60 hours down the toilet, you might as well finish it.

Oh wow...that's happened to me with House and YesMan...did one of the rangers detect you as you walked in or did you jest immediately get the mission and fail it? Are you marked as a terrorist by the NCR? That might have something to do with it...but it never affected my play throughs...I'm sorry :sadvaultboy:

yeah i'm marked as a terrorist, i don't see how that could affect it though. but it literally fails instantly.....Caesar gets out of bed after surgery, tells me about the president, i get the quest, and it fails before i even leave the tent. i wonder if this could have something to do with the last patch? at the very least it gives me a reason to start a new legion character....i never got the Caesar's Hire quest in this playthrough :brokencomputer:

Well if he feels it is ruined then finishing it would just 'waste' more time

This has to be a bug, the Legion playthrough is the only one where you can actually do the quest whilst being hated vilified etc...

<_< *gets rusty nails* prepare for some serious tetanus :disguise:

But serious though...it's a good rule of thumb for any game...don't you guys ever hold the page while you flip the page on the create your own story books? :unsure2: same rules apply
