[Relz] Arktwend English 3.1

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 2:58 pm

I suppose you have version 3.1, I don't really have much experience with that one. Anyway, when does that message pop up? Right after you start a new game, or is there a particular event?

Yeah, right after iit loads a new game. I hear sounds of fire and then get an error message saying "Actor Huhn010000000000000 Animation error... Actor animation has no class!". Also, i get a message saying that SureAI bik video is also missing. I tried this even without the english install and still got these results. Maybe there's something wrong with the Arktwend Installer 2.0.0.

This looks like I'll have to download and install all the newest stuff. I will take a look at it, but it may take till new year. Anyway, I had planned to get a fresh install of Arktwend and look into my Arktwend mods and adaptations. One last question, do you use the latest patch for Arktwend English 3.1 and TAO? I need to know that too.

EDIT: The installer should be OK, I used that one too before and no trouble.

Just installed the 2.0.0 German version, to see if it still works. Right of the bat I can tell you, that Arktwend has to be installed into Morrowind. Please check the following instructions and see, if you may have made a mistake somewhere. The problems you are getting look like both - misplaced data and some other trouble. This is my own way of installing Arktwend, so it probably will differ from the instructions you may have followed. Since my game runs now, it may be safer to follow this.

1. Copy the whole Morrowind folder and rename the new one into "Arktwend". This will be the new game and you can still play Morrowind at the same time.

2. Now run the installation of version 2.0 and select the path to the new Arktwend folder - make sure to double check, so that you don't get a path like this "H:\Games\Arktwend\Arktwend", since the installer may automatically add "Arktwend" to your destination folder!

3. Proceed with the installation. This should now put all the data in the right place and also overwrite the needed files.

4. And the last part for the German version. In the Launcher make sure NOT to choose Arktwend Enhanced Scripte.esm. This file should only be used if you will also run the Morrowind Enhanced program, which is not needed to play the game actually. I made the mistake in selecting this file as well, and my game crashed big time. Then I looked into the readme to see what was wrong and the result is what you read. (I should probably translate the original Arktwend readme and post it somewhere, I guess.)

I am now proceeding to the English part of the install. Let me know if the text above helped or not.

EDIT:

Finished with the installation.

Got both the Arktwend 3.1 English and the patch for it from Nexus. Works fine as well. The only file that should be enabled for this version in the launcher is the Arktwend_English.esm and nothing else (all German files included). The game froze after I tried to start a new game after staring a new game (no, it doesn't make sense to me either, I just kind of ended with that), not really fault of the game as you can see. Otherwise works just fine.

Hi all, I'm not sure if this will get a reply, but I've been having an issue with the Sneak skill.

Does it work differently in Arktwend? I can't seem to raise it at all. I've had the icon appear, when I'm near npcs, which I would assume would raise it while moving, but it's still at 0/100.

I've just escaped from Gorn, and am heading to Stormwend, does Arktwend have skill trainers?

To be honest, it's been years since I last played Morrowind, but I don't remember Sneak being all that different in Oblivion, which I have played recently, so I remember how it worked in that game. Did it work drastically different in Morrowind?

Thanks.

AFAIK sneak in Arktwend is just like sneak in Morrowind. There are a few skill trainers, your best bet is to look for them in cities.

Here's the wiki on http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Morrowind:Sneak.

Cool, thanks for that, now I have a new issue, I'm taking donations for the Clerics, I'm pretty sure I've talked to every single person I can in Stormwend, yet he says it's not enough.

Who am I missing? So far the Castle on the port, and the Kanzler's home is blocked off to me, will there be someone to take donations from in those two places?

Or did I just somehow miss someone else?

Thanks again.

Well, I am not 100% sure, but I bet you really need to get into those quarters of the town in order to get the donations. After all, the rich part of the city is out there along with the Kanzler's house and persuading the wealthy to pay out some coins is a Cleric's job. ;)

You do not need to get into the Kanzler's house or the Castle. You do need to walk around all of central Stormwend and the Upper (Rich) district. You don't need to go all over the worker's district in the southern part. If you are stuck, I can post the list of people you need to talk to. Frankly, when I played that quest, I just got fed up and looked inside the plugin to find out who I needed to talk to :)

Yeah, if you wouldn't mind listing who I need to speak to, and maybe where I can find them, that would be great, thanks.

I have a feeling I've just missed one person...

Edit: OK....turns out I missed the drunk dancing hobo. His 3 gold must have been a huge help!

For some reason, he's moved far from where he started at. Part of me wants to use the RA console command, but that moves all NPCs back right? I have a feeling that would mess something up. Or can I just click on the person I want sent back, and then do RA, and it will only move that Npc?

Hmm, after trying out the RA console command a few times, it only seems to reset NPCs around me, the way I read it, I thought it would reset all Npcs in the game.

Anyone got any info on how RA works?

(Spoilers!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Yup, me again, with another issue, well, more of a question.

I just killed the Masterthief, and the Kanzler wants to see me in the Theater.

When I get to him, he acts like I've met him, and done quests for him before. At this point, I still haven't joined the City Guards. Did I skip part of the main quest somehow, or any quests at all?

Thanks in Advance.

You can do spoiler text using the

tags.

In answer to your question:
Spoiler
No, I don't think you've skipped anything, the Kanzler is just saying how he thought you did a nice job of removing the Thieves Guild, and now he wants you to do something for him.

Unfortunately I can't support the Steam version because I do not have that version of Morrowind. But if someone can provide instructions for getting it working, I will include them in the Readme.

I think the Steam version of Morrowind should work, but it may just require a little tweaking. You might try contacting Steam and see if they can tell you what that application error means.

Thanks, the reason I thought maybe it may have skipped ahead, because he mentions a character, I haven't dealt with before. I haven't started his quests yet, still gotta join the City Guards, maybe I'll deal with the character the Kanzler mentions in those quests.

About 45 hours in, and I still haven't really started the main quest.

Other then the tons of weird empty, seemingly unfinished interiors(Seriously, what's up with that?)I really like this mod.

Think I'm near the end of the Hunter's Guild quests(I was stuck on one of the quests, and was gonna head here to ask for help, when I just randomly ran into the bandits, heh), then I'm gonna start the Forest Guard. Great job on the English translation.

That's just the state that Arktwend was released in.

Maybe someday someone will come along and finish the interiors.

Another question, I'm at the end of the Hunter's Guild quests I believe, they want me to spy on the Forest Guard, I did that, and the Guard all hate me now.

My question is, would this have been any different if I joined the Forest Guard first, or does this happen no matter what?

Actually, you are already progressing in the main quest - that's what the Thieves Guild was about, the City Guards are not a must (didn't play for them, so I can't say if they do influence the main quest or not).

Spoiler
In Arktwend some guilds are made to either work against each other, or to be just the enemies of the one you join. As much as I know the Forest Guards will always end up hating you, since they are the enemy of the Hunter's Guild.

About the unfinished interiors - that's because Arktwend was a bit hastily released when Oblivion came out. It's not just about interiors, the southern country is also in a state of "could have been made more". I started to work on completing the unfinished interiors and some add-ons, but I get sidetracked a lot, especially since Nehrim is out. Thus my mods are for now on hiatus.

Nehrim doesn't have any of the same issues with interiors does it?

I actually would be playing Nehrim right now, if I hadn't have found Arktwend, which I read was a prequel.

Glad I waited anyway, since Nehrim is gonna be getting another update soon.

Oh, and if the City Guards aren't really part of the main quest, why does the Kanzler mention a character like I should already know him? I think the key journey words are something like "Remember the man(I don't remember the name atm)"

Just seems out of place to me.

No Nehrim was released as a complete game. There are still some things, like quest, which have an open ending (can't be completed yet), since the SureAI team still works on adding more stuff into the game, especially for characters above lvl 30. On the other hand this also means, that even if you finish the game now, you have something to look forward to in future relaeses. The only real bugger is the unfinished smithing (you can only make basic weapons, even though there is an option for better ones), but I didn't play the latest version, so can't say that for sure.

Yes, Arktwend is a prequel to Nehrim, though it doesn't continue in the story from it. The gain from playing Arktwend first is a more clearer view on the story and world you get to see, since you will have some pre-knowledge the other players don't have. And of course you can encounter some of the people you already know, see the ends of stories, which began in Arktwend or visit the places you know once again. It is a nice feeling of nostalgia walking on the same land as you do right now.

lol You may wait forever like this, since the guys are 'always' working on new updates. It's true though, that the version right now should be a lot cleaner.

Hmm, I don't really remember the dialogue with the Kanzler anymore, but I guess he has mentioned Calisto, right? If so, then you already did meet him in the tournament to get into the city. He was one of the man in capes, who attacked Kanzler's guards and also the one, who shouted at you to not show your face to the Kanzler.

That was it! Calisto! Thank you so much! This was really bugging me, I couldn't remember who that guy was. Good to know I didn't skip anything.

Oh, and since I'm here, does anyone know how to set the gamma option back to default? I've searched all over, and haven't found anything.

Turns out this whole 50 plus hours I've been playing Arktwend, the Morrowind Graphic Extender wasn't working. I guess it doesn't work if you launch the game from the launcher.
It started working, after I got Raptr to launch Arktwend, instead of Morrowind.

And it seems the Morrowind Graphic Extender makes the local map look much much darker. So I messed the with the Gamma setting to see if that would help, it didn't, and I couldn't remember what the Gamma was set to as default.

Why does the Morrowind Graphic Extender make the local map so dark? The world map isn't any darker.

Edit: Alright, one last edit, haha. Where in Stormwend do I find the person Antonia for a City Guard quest? I've looked all over, and can't find her. I found her in the NPC tab in the Construction set, but it doesn't say where she is.
Also, where are The Great Mountains at? For the Stormwend Ore.

Spoiler
Just started the main quest, had to leave Stormwend in flames, I will be able to return at some point right?
