[Relz] Arktwend English 3.1

Alright, ended up finding her, after using Google Translate to see some of the German forums for the game.

Still wondering where the Great Mountains are though.

That would be the big mountains around Ion Monastery area, also referred to as "Big Mountain".

Thanks, I wasn't sure what mountain it meant, since there doesn't seem to be any area called The Great Mountains. Mind giving me a small hint where I can find the ore, or can I just mine any of the nodes in the area? Or do I need to fine 10 specific pieces of ore?

Edit: Turns out all I have to do was mine the random nodes.

I think I might have answered my own question about Stormwend, I have a feeling I'll be coming back to it, since I haven't been in that huge tower yet.

I know I've said thanks before, but I really do appreciate all the help you guys have been giving me.
Parts of me wants to write a guide for this mod, but I have a feeling I'd get bored partway through, seems to happen whenever I try something like that.

Maybe I can start with just the faction quests? Hmm....

About that quest:
Spoiler
It is a bit of a red herring, you can just steal ore out of any container in Stormwend and give it to Krem. Fairly decent reward if you do it early.

Sure. Brumbeck posted here a while back and I link to that page in the first post of this thread.

Huh, I actually tried that at first, giving him ore I found in a crate, and he wouldn't take it.

Got a new small question, how do I get the fungus that says it's too slippery? Do I need a certain item?

There are 2 kinds of ore. You have to give him the kind he asks for. The original Arktwend implemented 2 kinds of ore, but didn't distinguish between them. I added description so that they were referred to differently so the situation is a little more clear.

Can't get it, can't use it.

Having fun with the main quest.

Spoiler
That huge underground trek to find then Dwarf King's son was pretty interesting. I would have been pissed if that's how the game ended, when I defeated the Demon King. I loved how they did the airship, I had a feeling it was gonna crash though, haha.

Just beat the Kanzler, who was really easy, since I went and found the Aurin sword in Orgerat(Too much steam, ahhhhh!). So now I'm the King of Stormwend(Not that anyone acts any different toward me, haha), and getting access to all the teleporters was a great reward for that.

Next I gotta get that sword out of the sewers, and then what happens next, guessing I'll be heading to the southern lands soon, since I haven't been there yet.

Wow, the Goth's Sword is damn powerful.

But I've been limiting myself to it, while leveling the other weapon skills just for the hell of it.

Can't say this mod is all that hard, It's a ton of fun though. I should probably raise the difficulty.

According to the Raptr tracking of my playtime, I've been playing this mod for 72 hours, wow.

I've been exploring the Southern Lands for a little while now, and I finally see what you meant Aisis, doesn't seem finished. And thank god your companions teleport all over the place to keep up with you, that could have a been a huge headache trying to keep track of them.

I've got another question, the Sultan wants me to kill the other group of desert people, should I just do that quest? Or can I do any quests for the Mytrehen?

Thanks.

Edit: Looks like I answered my own question, since they became hostile during the main quest.

The Mytheren will always get aggressive, so there is no point in trying to keep good relationships.

Beware, you are more or less at the end of the game. So it would be good to explore and let the main quest be, if you want to spend some more time in Arktwend. If not, then good luck with the main quest and maybe it's the time then to proceed to Nehrim. ;)

Have you posted any MGE screenshots showing some distant land using this mod? I'd love to see some :) .

I've pretty much explored the whole world by now, and the only side quest I have is the Sultan's quest. I'm currently somewhere in the past.

Well I beat the mod, and to be honest, I had no idea what the hell was going on near the end of the game. Maybe I missed some story elements, but I have no idea what just happened.

Any chance someone could explain the story?

I think Golden thief changed it, so the game wouldn't end after you completed the mainquest.

But besides bugfixing has there been any changes in quests, gameplay etc since the early translated versions. I'm thinking about playing Arktwend again, so I liked to hear, if there are new things to look forward to.

Since I've only played this latest version, I couldn't really tell you how different it is. Though yeah, it's possible to continue, once those guards show up at the end.

That's correct.

There were some changes to the Thieves Guild quests in some intermediate versions of the English version. But the latest English version should be closer to the original German. I did that, for better or worse, so that the base English version would be closer to the original, and further changes could be layered on top with additional plugins. There's still lots of subjective changes, since some "bugfixes" were actually filling in missing stuff.

Hey,

I'm having an issue playing Arktwend. I've installed the German files and the English ESM and all the patches, but I can't seem to play the game. There is an issue that always pops up that prevents the game from loading the area after selecting 'New' from the menu. Unfortunately, the issue doesn't appear in the game, rather it appears out of it so I can't select 'Yes to All' to ignore it. The issue is this:

NiAnimation Error: Object "Bip01 Tail" not found in NiAnimation

I'm SO SICK OF ANIMATIONS. But I'm not sure how to fix this, so any help would be really really appreciated.

I've never seen a animation error. Have you at any time run LizTail's animation utility? If so, I'd retry the install with a fresh Morrowind install first.

Hello, I've been having a lot of fun with this mod and I recently became stuck at the part where
Spoiler
after raiding the desert fort at the request of the sultan I got the Journal entries "The gorge is well guarded. I have the feeling we are approaching Arkt's hideout."
and later when I see the big temple thing: "Before us lies an ancient temple, perhaps Arkt's refuge."
I defeated all the people there and I went all the way to the back of the temple and all that I see is three long streaks of what looks like blood.

I don't know whether a script is not working correctly or I simply need to go somewhere else, because I don't see any paths that would be an obvious direction.

Thanks for your time :D

EDIT: I fixed the problem. I was doing a quest in the wrong order. I am very thankful for the search function in MWEdit

how do I uninstall Arktwend?

I noticed many things have been changed... the crosshair icons, the textures of the beds, the splash screens...

I wouldn't like to delete the texture folder and reinstall all Morrowind + mods :ermm:

As far as I know, there's no way. That's why they recommend creating a new directory for a new Morrowind install in which to play Arktwend.

I noticed only now that I had to install it somewhere else.
