[Relz] Arktwend English 3.1

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 1:21 pm

Thanks again John.

I guess that it's not possible to continue my saved games now that I've moved to 3.1? I loaded an earlier save (where I was still doing the previous quest) so that I could start the quest with Tate from scratch, but now there seems to be some problems. Throughout the city, two of each character can be seen walking around, some earlier scripts seem to be re-running themselves, and my framerate has fallen into the single digits.

I'm only loading Arktwend_English.esm in the data files list, but when I loaded a save game from before my update, it says that the master file is different from the saved game. That didn't surprise me as I knew that already, but then it says that the local count for "rune arka" doesn't match, so it wants to re-initialize. I chose "yes to all", and then the game loaded with the above problems.

If I have to start over, it's okay. I want to try a different character build anyway.

Thanks for all your work on this John!

No, I do not think it is possible to use a savegame from previous versions with 3.1, too many things changed. You could decide to try to go on with your current version (possible, but you will encounter other bugs), or else do some major savegame surgery with Enchanted Editor (very difficult) to get the savegame to work with 3.1, or start over fresh with 3.1.

Sounds like a general Morrowind install problem. If http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1082028-failed-to-load-cursor-meshescursornif-whaaat/page__p__15762102__hl__cursornif__fromsearch__1&#entry15762102 doesn't work, then please post your Warnings.txt and load order.

Have you tried a complete re-install of Morrowind, ensuring your anti-virus is off during the install, as Pluto suggested in the link I posted above?

Meshes/Cursor.nif is supposed to be inside of Morrowind.bsa. Do you have all the .bsa files in your Arktwend "Data Files" directory?
You should be able to extract cursor.nif from Morrowind.bsa using a tool like bsaunpack if you actually need that separate file, but it's unlikely that's the problem.

Thanks again for the earlier help, John. I just finished the main quest, without any more game-stopping problems. There were some minor error flags, usually with missing textures, but selecting to continue the game didn't present any problems. The only texture that looked weird was the head of any lizardman who was wearing a helmet. This would erase their faces, (or make them really small, I'm not sure), but it didn't affect gameplay in any way.

The only thing I'm confused about was plot related:
Spoiler
In the final battle, I understand why I'm fighting Arkt, but why do I have to fight Callisto afterwards? He says something about resisting Tyr because of some dark plans that Tyr has, but I thought that Callisto supported Tyr? Even looking at it from a higher "god" perspective, wouldn't Tyr be happy that I destroyed Arkt? Why would he send Callisto to kill me?

The only thing I can figure is that the writers were trying to convey that Callisto wasn't actually a disciple of Tyr, but was controlled by some unknown, dark power. I think this might be it, but the dialogue seems a little cloudy on the issue. Am I right?

If you can give me some ids of textures or the items they appear on, I can look into that. AFAIK, there are no missing textures. I love to get feedback, but I can't really do anything to improve the game for others unless the information is specific.

Calisto is Arkt and represents Evil in the world of Arktwend. The guy you fought before Calisto at the end was just a sham, a doppelganger.

The installation instructions and pre-requisites are outlined in the first post and in the included Readme for both. Let me know if the instructions are insufficient and I will endeavor to increase their sufficientness to maxitude.

I followed all instructions, I just wanted to double check incase any updates/addons had been made since the posting of the first post :)

So it looks like I am all set to go, will report any bugs if I find any.

Yes, I believe it is. I played through Arktwend numerous times with an earlier version of the MCP. AFAIK there's nothing in the latest version that would cause any problems. In fact, I recommend using it.

Ok,

I had just finish setting up my seprate morrowind install for Arktwend.

I went to unzip the english Arktwend file but it said that it was corrupted. I then went back to nexus to download it again but Nexus is throwing this error at me when I click on files:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function query() in /home/tes/public_html/includes/sdk/index.php on line 90

essentaily I cannot download the english version of Arktwend. Is there anywhere else to download from?

NVM - Nexus seems to be working again. Hopefully a fresh download will solve the corrupt file i got earlier.

yeah, pretty much. It just makes managing the mod easier, preventing corrupt instalations, dodgy saves, ctd's, human error etc....

That is recommended, sir. Arktwend needs to install its own Morrowind.ini, so the easiest thing to do is make a separate install for it so it doesn't clobber anything in your regular Morrowind directory.

No. For Arktwend English, you only activate Arktwend_English.esm. For TAO, you would also activate TAO.esp. If you want to try it, you can also activate TAO_Windows_Glow.esp.
If you let me know where you read in the instructions to activate all those other plugins, I will fix it.

and what does the morrowind enhanced thing do?

It is not supported on the English version of Arktwend.

no the other plugins (BB, BH, etc.) were ones that i wanted to play with, but my friend told me that they aren't compatible so im only using TAO, and the master file, the glowing windows didnt look right in-game, when i moved they would flash gray.
