Arma is dying. So, ready to take its place?

Post » Sat Jan 04, 2014 3:04 am

As the title. Come on Crytek, where is Realtime Immersive? Arma III and BIS are ready to kick the bucket. Arma III is FAIL and is already being sold for half price on some sites. The engine is ancient and while moddable, the tools are horrible. Its the end for them.

So we players are looking for someone to replace them. We've been seeing the videos RTI has been putting out the last 2 years or so. They look AWESOME. Forget Crysis. You can always put nanosuits into an RTI mod. Give us what we want, and you'll sell millions of copies! I can get every Arma player there ever was to come over to you if you'll give them an easy editor and good mod tools. That and some good weapons, vehicles, aircraft, and maps to start out the game with.

You've probably already got stuff made for it, just use the editors to make it into something more. Crysis Wars was really great! Lots of people still play Mesa and the larger maps to this day. Now, just make it 2013, put in real vehicles, like the BTR-90, BMP-3, M1A2, M2, real weapons, etc., and you've got a real money maker. Also, some aircraft with real huds and instruments (CCRP / CCIP / EO, etc. ). If you make it, they will come. I guarantee it. We Arma players are sick and tired of the ancient and dying Arma engine. Not to mention, their move to Steam Workshop has pissed off half the Arma modders, who quit in rage.

That doesn't sound like the Crysis that Crytek have in mind, anyway too late, Crysis 2 is dead, Crysis 3 is dead(almost) and Crysis 4 will be a free to play crap.

I will also tell you this, Crytek release broken games and never fix them properly, they tried a bit more with C3 than C2, but in the end, the game still has many bugs and lag on some maps. You can't expect them to do serious work if they don't know how to code. They usually deliver the final blow with a paid DLC that no one buys to squeeze a bit more money from the svckers.

They also said that there will be NO ModSDK for C3.

Oh yeah, I'm a longtime Crysis Wars vet. Hated C2 and C3. Garbage IMO.

And you think Crytek puts out crap? Try Arma III. A2 was saved by the modders, but A3 is dying quick. There's not even a game in it. We got an Island and a few generic weapons and vehicles, and were told "do what you will with it". Utter crap.

I'm sure you've seen Realtime Immersives videos on Youtube though. They're part of Crytek. A lot better than the 15 year old Arma Engine, which is crapping out on modern computers. The old horse has had it. We need a new engine. RTI looks like they are making large maps, and they look pretty good. A lot easier to mod for also. Visitor and Oxygen are a nightmare! You better have some college classes in game development before expecting to do anything real with those.

And for anyone looking for something to do after C3, try out Crysis Wars. Its a blast!

Well, I hate that Crytek don't fix their games and look at how to steal our money, but I fell in love with C2 and that is why I bought C3.

If only they fixed em properly, we might have had more players.

Once in a blue moon :)

However, I noticed there still are some people playing if you look on the server browser. Usually the 24hr Mesa server.

*Crickets chirping

Yeah, I guess that about answers my question. Crytek has left the building (quietly, out the back door, with any money they could grab ).
