If I arm (reverse pickpocket) Villagers and Townsfolk with enchanted weaponry and armour (say in Whiterun for instance) would they actually use it during an attack (be it vampire or dragon)?

Or does the weapon/armour reset/despawn after a set time?

But in all seriousness if they equip the items then yes, they'll use it in battle.
