Armor & Clothing

I made him in FO3, you just need leather armour, (a certain hairstyle bit i cant remember it) sawd of shotgun, dogmeat, and if u want to be reli specific, break one of your legs, so you have that limp.
i'm sure its no coincidence that the sawd off shotgun and 'dogmeat' both look really similar to the ones in the film.

Yah, I know. Im playing him right now! I have leather armor, wastelander hair, and the Kneecapper

Okay, I just finished watching Mad Max 2: Road Warrior and now i really want his get up, his leather outfit, his sawed off 12 gauge, everything. Maybe as an easter egg sold by a man who owns a working gyrocopter, he will sell it to you saying it belonged to an old friend of his.

I LIKE IT! :P

Instead of just outfits, I'd like to have:

Different Shirts
Different Coats
Different Pants (some would increase your speed)
Different Gloves (maybe)
Different Shoes (maybe for stealth)
More types of glasses (for perception of course)

For the female character:

Different Skirts
Different Blouses
Different Dresses

For everything:

Dyes to change the color of your clothes.

Power Armor:

I want more power armor variants and some awesome armor effects.

Scout power armor
Original F1 Power armor
Fallout 2 Enclave power armor

Fallout Tactics power armor
Medical power armor
Prototype Power armor (very bulky, heavy, big, and slow but offers the best protection)
Scientific power armor (underwater and hazard versions not designed for combat just to work in hostile environment)

Some power armor effects to feel the awesomeness: small caliber rounds ricochet from the plating, when hit by an energy weapon some movement speed reduction and visor blackout, flashing or flickering, one handed weapon handling (not dual wielding),
scratched or broken visor after surviving a headshot, some filter sounds when breathing, audio comment when severely injured

I doubt we'll those in their actual stats. They'd simply be overpowered unless they bring back different types of damage (plasma, explosive, etc.).

As a side note (a personal preference rather), a prototype shouldn't be better, as in more protection, but should offer a unique feature that didn't have the chance to be seen through to mass production, like the medic PA. It could be a small bonus to melee damage, extra limbs health, lighter weight but same DR/DT, a lot of damage reduction from free falls, chance of random EMP bursts when hit... it's a prototype, possibilities are endless. :twirl::P

prototype stealth power armor.
back during the resource war the government wanted to try wiping out the chinese leaders in 1 fell swoop with a covert heavily armored platoon, so they reverse engineered the chinese stealth suit into US power armor, unfortunately it was completed just days before the bombs dropped thus it never even got to be tested.
postives: powered armor, faster movement then normal power armor, agl bonus, stealthed when crouching.
negatives: no rad res, no str bonus or extra carry cap, water shorts out the stealth for a few moments.

I thought that the prototype offers more protection against melee, explosions and bullets because of the bigger size (=more plating), i think a prototype armor is bigger than the mass produced ones ( the first servo-motors are very big but as the producing technology advanced they can reduce the size without losing much power)

It's funny how unstoppable people want Power Armor to be against common damage, but people call shenanigans when they only take 10% damage during VATS...

Yeah I want power armor to be awesome because I want to fight face to face in it with big guns in my hand and even bigger guns in the super mutants/Power Armored enemies hands. :D (in hardcoe/hard mode)
If I take lesser damage then my enemies in power armor take less damage too.

Because one makes sense, the other doesn't. It makes sense for a big suit of armor to be unstoppable against common damage. Why lug around a big tin can if a .32 is going to punch right through it and ruin your day?

But in VATS, your sixy Sleepwear magically becomes stronger than even the toughest power armor- and there's something funky about that.

Maybe it's because they didn't want Power Armor to be an insurmountable obstacle with the game crawling with Enclave troops?

It wouldn't be an insurmountable obstacle if you brought the right gear. They could have had an enclave soldier die in front of you or something- at that point you wouldn't be able to use his armor, but you could grab his plasma rifle and ammo- which would be effective against the armor of his brethren.

Irrelevant. At least VATS only lasts a few seconds, whereas these ideas for Power Armor may as well come with "Iron Man" by Black Sabbath playing in the background when you equip it. I call cheat.

Basically, when you're wearing Power Armor, you should be like "Iron Man". Bullets and lasers pinging and flying off here, there, and everywhere. Just read some of the stuff on Power Armor on the Vault Wiki. It says, that even the earliest suits of Power Armor could go into a town, blow it to kingdom come and everyone in that town, and all without harming the wearer inside. Power Armor is meant to be indestructible, to a very high degree.

I would like the option to customize the armor like you can with the weapons. Or how about having "slots" like in FFXIII, where you can layer your clothing. Since it is the desert, bandanas over the mouth and cowboy hats would be cool. Why aren't there regular blue jeans? Shoe options would be cool too. There has to be Elvis outfits/wigs too. Wax museums that you could take the wigs and clothes off of. Gloves (or if brass knuckles/power fists make it back). Or maybe dye shops like in Assassin's Creed 2 to change the colors. I stuck to Combat/Battle Armor in FO3. I would just rather being able to put boots, pants, shirt, hat, glasses on separate to customize my appearance more.

I'd like something similar to the Regulator Duster and the Shady Hat. I wore both quite often because of the awesome look it had. I'd also like more masks so I could be like a mask vigilante or something along the lines of that.

So...A game mechanic that pauses time to pinpoint shoot, but goes slow mo during execution for a few seconds and grants a 90% DR is overpowered...Yet a suit of armor that can only be taken down by equally armored adversaries without limit with the exception of Armor Health is acceptable.
Yes...That makes absolute sense... (Please hint the monotone sarcasm that I am trying to emote)

Armoured Soldiers, Deathclaws, Super Mutants, and other high-level enemies would still pose a challenge when wearing strong Power Armor. I wouldn't expect enemies to scale with my level any way (I am strong, molerats are weak, I can kill molerats).

That and godmode VATS is totally yawn.

I resent that. There's nothing cooler watching your bullet sail to it's mark...Then again, I wouldn't expect someone like you to appreciate it.

You can still do that- you'd just have to be smart about when you use VATS.

Also, to get back on topic, I wholly support gasmasks and trenchcoats.

I wasn't talking about VATS, but now that you do mention it, I do think that VATS was overpowering at times.

But on the topic of Power Armor. If I'm fighting in just bland old Leather Armor, and am up against someone in Power Armor. My little .32 or even Chinese Assault Rifle isn't going to pierce that thick of strengthened steel. And if you've played any of the previous Fallouts (excluding FO3) you'd know that Powered Armor enemies were quite tricky to deal with when you yourself weren't wearing good enough armor. So it's simply fact, if you you're wearing Power Armor, you should be a God-like strengthened character, or else you're gonna be ending up like in FO3, where a knife can hurt you.
