Armor, How it Should Be in the Next Game?

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 3:31 am

I think that the point he is trying to make is not just AP bullets, but armour that some bullets can't penetrate. As he said in his example there could be Combat Armour that you couldn't penetrate with small calibre weapons, you would need a rifle to do so.

or a gauss pistol! I miss them from FO2 :(

I think armor should serve a practical purpose first and look great secondly because what army would say "N'ah this armor won't protect us but who cares when we look this good".
I also think that the original Fallout armor system should be adapted for use in the new fallouts but they need to add a global DT multiplier in the GECK because when I tried to use damage increasing mods for New Vegas armor became a joke.

I think having DT and DR plus DR to certain types of attacks like in the old games would be great....did NV have this because it only showed us DT, and yet there were things you could consume that would give you fire or energy resistance...there needs to be more transparency with stats and RPG/Gameplay Mechanics.

Nope NV only replaced basicly universal DR with DT for the most part. However soem armor/gear and med's still had the + DR trait so it technically was still in the game. However as far as I know there is no seperating it into damage types like the originals.

armor should be more evenly matched with more variety to stop everyone's characters ending up looking the same. Otherwise it kills off originality and character uniqueness and we all end up wearing the same power armor.

that's why i want to see armor mods, and the ability to paint your equipment.
