Armor mods

Post » Tue Dec 22, 2009 12:54 pm

I have seen a few treats about weapons mods but not about armor mods (if they will ever add them).
So my first two.

Combat armor (the green one): light weight kit, moves it from medium to light armor.
because its totally outclassed in medium and would compeat better against other light armors.
Combat helmet (all versions): flash light, there is already an attachment place for it on the right side of all the helmets.

What are your ideas?

Josh Sawyer stated that they thought about armor mods but didn't have enough time to really get into it.

Maybe for the next DLC?
And that doesn't stop you from thinking up cool armor mods.

I would like to see some medieval armor. Maybe in a pre-war medieval museum. Or maybe even a suit of ES armor as an easter egg hidden somewhere.

I also said this idea before but more with all armors in mind, not only power.

Or instead of the BOs having a custom spray shop we can make a workable item using the paintgun, surgical tubing, and etc to create an air pressured paint gun for decals.

One for power armor, Oiled joints - increases movement speed to that of medium armor.

Also night vision, flashlights, and I remember a lead plating suggestion for medium and heavy armors. You would have 5 weight added to the armor but it would increase radiation resistence by 10 or something.

Armor mods. Nice!

Camouflage -- Bonus to Sneak outdoors, penalty to sneak indoors.
Quick Draw Holster -- Increase weapon draw speed. Pistols & small Melee only.
Extra protection -- Adds to DT, increases weight. Can be applied to clothing items.
Combat Helmet UV visor -- adds night vision.
Footwear Mods -- Bonuses to sneak, traction or running speed.
Extra stitching -- Armor degrades slower.
Fireproofing -- Extra flame damage reduction. Duh.

Secret pockets - Lowers all weapon sneak skill checks for holdout weapons by one tier.

Extra packing/Thermic Fusion generator(PA) - More carry weight.

Light weight kits: for all low DT medium armor (it goes to light armor).
night vision goggles: for normal combat helmet(fits under it perfectly).
Stealth clothing: for underneath the vault and sierra madre security armors ( the blue and orange turns black).
Explosives pouch: decreases weight for all explosives.

Hopefully they do add some armor mods.

Some great ideas guys.

On a side note, I'd like to see Environmental Armor brought back.

On topic, a Stealth Boy mod for armor like the Chinese Stealth Armor from FO3.

Think Radiation Suit combined with Combat Armor.
