Armor is too shiny. Help please!

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 4:31 am

First time making armor in Oblivion and I've got it into the game but the armour is really shiny, like its metallic but it is supposed to be a layer of clothing over chainmail, which means it shouldn't be shiny because obviously clothes aren't very shiny. Does anybody know how I might fix this? Thanks.

The reflectivity (shine) is controlled by the alpha channel of the normal map for the armor - so what you need to do is darken the alpha channel to reduce the shine (normally you would copy\paste a copy of the texture into the alpha channel of the normal map and then darkenas needed to reduce the shine)
