Armor Variety in Skyrim?

Post » Thu Sep 29, 2011 12:20 pm

Oblivion had too few full armor pieces. I wish some of the armor from Morrowind would be in Skyrim (Bonemold and Dreugh for example). I hope there will be lots of different armor variety, for example 20 different full armor pieces for Heavy, 20 other for Light, etc etc. I don't care what it takes, even if a huge number of different armor takes 3GB of data alone.. I want as much variety in weapons and armor as possible :) How later than Skyrim's release date can we expect new Armor/Weapon mods? Can they add different armor/weapons without replacing those that are already in?

I'd rather they had variations on existing armor sets instead of a bunch of [censored] armor that nobody would ever use. Unless you're a necromancer or a shellfish, running around in bonemold or dreugh armor is ridiculous.

I'd love to see some gameplay and visual affecting costumization on iron, steel etc armor. Even to the point of adding armor on the left or right side depending on whether you have a shield or use magic etc

It will take a few days. I normally pick mods from nexus. but there are more sites I guess. I like your idea but I highly doubt the put it alot of armor in it that has the capacity of 3GB.

If anything, I want race themed armour, though I wonder what Bretons would have, seeing that most of the time they are mages.

For me armor/weapon variety is most important, besides fixed level scaling. I love it when I have some type of armor that isn't commonly seen or when there are enough different types of armor to the point you would recognize a friend/NPC by the armor he wears. In other words I would like for armor to make people distinguishable from other, hate it when everybody wears similar armor.

Unique armor for all 10 races!

Jesus Christ, this is the last thing on my wish list, everything else I wanted isn't in the game.

I hope there is more armor than the smithing tree lets on. Maybe typically heavy armor now comes in light too.

As long as they have a decent variety, I'll be happy. But honestly, for my first playthrough I just want the armor being worn in all the promotional art, like the background of these boards.

EDIT: And speaking of the armor in all the concepts, does anyone know if its Light or Heavy? It looks fairly light to me, but it does have some plates on it.

I'm with The World Eater.

I hope Beth hasn't set themselves up for backlash. They claimed that they're reducing customization (fewer armor slots) to allow for more variations and more npcs. If both those numbers aren't up significantly from Oblivion, people will be pissed.

How does http://images.uesp.net/b/b8/MW_Armor_BonemoldM.jpg armor look like it belongs on a necromancer? It's traditional Dunmer armor, and it would be awesome to be able to wear that with my Dunmer character in Skyrim.

I'm not expecting bonemold to make a return at all though, and I do agree that I'd rather have bigger variety of the current armor sets.

i would like to add 1 more thing!

when in morrowind i would get better armor from a mod or from hunting and killing argonians
when i would sell this armor to a shop keeper he/she (NPC) would allways immediatly wear the armor
that i sold to them
this honored me and made me feel awesome!
and made me feel like it was a wanted item to show off to other NPC's ... idk if any 1 remembers this
asking that this also be implemented again in skyrim!

Yes Bonemold is really awesome, though I think it disappeared because of the fact that there was no 'Medium Armor' in Oblivion. As Cy Tolliver stated, they've reduced the armor slots so NPCs wearing same armor will be much more common if there aren't alot more different armor types.

Hmm interesting. 'hunting and killing argonians' What type of armor are you referring to? Which specific argonians?
