Armor & Weapons of Skyrim

I dont think flails would ever work, they are designed to be an offense weapon that can bypass an enemies shield, but there is virtually no way to can block with it, so I dont see how it would work out, it would be pretty challenging

I just can't see them putting the devellopment time into re-introducing something that complex, when they seem resistant to adding in simple weapons like spears.

Crossbows were cool, and it is possible they may be in, due to the Dwenmers being back in, but I remain doubtful. Whips? No chance. Capes? I hope so, but I doubt it.

Capes, Crossbows, and maybe Whips?

Also maybe like a Granite Material of weapons and armors or some type of other type of rock, hatchets, tomahawks, pickaxes, javelins, and yes more different sets of armors and weapons. :toughninja:

You'd have to use a shield. How can you block a steel sword with a wooden staff? Or a sledge hammer with two daggers ?

[*]Pelt *Suggested in Forums

Nordic as a material?

A pelt is fur.

And what are you gonna do for this "Nordic" material? Chop little nords into meat squares?

I would consider capes clothing, and I'm starting to get the impression that re-introducing old weapons and armor is highly unlikely. At least, I'm hoping that Bethesda would be more likely to introduce new types of weapons and armor instead of bringing back old ones. That being said, if they don't introduce new stuff (which they will) I hope they don't just diminish the number of sets altogether. Oblivion had way too few types of weapons/armor IMHO.

I totally agree with you. Flails are incredibly unlikely, and I have no idea about spears. That was my original opinion about crossbows as well, but maybe they'll find an interesting new way to handle them (something quite unlike the crossbows of Morrowind). I agree on the whips, and capes I have no idea or preference

Morrowind featured different types of Nordic and Imperial armor. No reason they wouldn't do the same thing in Skyrim. ie: Nordic Fur, Nordic Plate, Nordic Quartz... etc.

So... rock? Primitive and natural local rock? I like this, probably better than my magical ice idea. Yeah. This looks quite plausible.

Ice armor and weapons have existed in a previous game: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Bloodmoon:Base_Armor#Ice_Armor.

Oh, duh! I had no idea what someone meant when they suggested Stahlrim, and I haven't gotten into the Bloodmoon Expansion yet. Awesome! This is almost a confirmed, then. I can't see any reason this wouldn't be in. I just hope they don't make it as horrendously ugly as the glass sets in Oblivion. :(

I really wish all of these were confirmed, but a ES player can only dream. *Sigh*

This is my idea for Altmer Armor... but seriously I'm hoping we see awesome looking spears and I'm assuming nordic armor will be in because if it isn't that will just be silly

I'm not quite sure what the correct term is for this item. But I want to be able to choose from different types of cloth that cover ur mouth. You know like bandannas that you wrap around ur mouth lol. Or a mask for ur face like Zorro. guess mouth cover works. But it would be sick to have one of those and then they could even add that one mouth cover or mask improves speechcraft. or something along those lines.

Yeah, we definitely need MORE of something. I'm seeing a whole lotta "less" in all the new info. Something with MORE would be appreciable. lol

Maybe I was in the minority, but I was one of the few players to use crossbows and throwing knives in Morrowind, and to actually thoroughly enjoy both. Flails and whips I doubt will see a return as I said, due to their complexity within the physics engine of the game, but I remain cautiously optimistic about spears, and capes if they're done right could be cool.

That is true. Might make sense not seeing as many Imperial Armours as before (Given that one of the central plot points seems to be whether or not the Nords rejoin the Empire) but more Nordic armours seems logical.
I'll take that as you're pro-god-like powers.

Haha. Well... I don't really like the God-Like silliness of the previous two games, I hope that's something that gets fixed. But I do like the ability to get good at everything (And I like that alot more than I see so far).

...Pal. =P

Ninja mask/cowl/balaclaba/bandana/face cloth/mask etc...

Yes, that would be very cool. Also, if your face is obscured, it could cause some AI to not know who you are (kinda like the Gray Cowl)? This idea would need a lot of work...

I certainly hope not.
I can make more unique combinations if I can have different types on each shoulder and each hand.

I could see throwing axes making an appearance. That would be a series first, right? I don't remember throwing axes.
I really don't think Bethesda would bring back old weapons though. Maybe one or two, but not down to things like dai-katanas, wakizhasis, tantos, throwing stars, crossbows (maybe one, a legendary Dwemer one) or flails. Flails would be nice (and fitting), but I agree with everyone that said the animation would be a killer.

Well wakizhasis and tantos were from Skyrim and/or Akavir... throwing stars were probably from Akavir too... Dai-katanas/katanas I can live without... but except from Oblivion every game had 'em...
and yes throwing axes would be a first... and I would be more than satisfied with only one Flail in the game....
