Because we barely know anything about the game it is a little too early to say we have confirmation on weapon and armor sets (materials, how many pieces, what they do), but it's never too early to speculate! I'm going to try to suggest a template for what we believe will be in the game (based on screenshots, artwork and speculation) and what we haven't seen yet but want or expect.

Call me uninspired, but that's all I can imagine off the top of my head for full-armor sets. I know some of these could be proven/confirmed through screenshots or interviews, but I'll leave that up to you guys. Now how about what we WANT to see?

Ice as a material?
Nordic as a material?
Unique new weapon classes?
I would like to see a weapon set similar to the Grummite weapons from Shivering Isles, but with a distinct Nordic flair.

Just keep it simple, maybe we can make this an organic list of confirmations, speculations and wants.

I certainly hope not! I don't want my armor melting if I use the flamethrower spell or walk into a warm tavern. :blush:

I wouldn't mind seeing Ice as a set, or a Skeletal/Bone set. Also, typically Leather is a set in the games.

With the way weapons have been taken out from Oblivion, I can't imagine them re-introducing a new one in Skyrim.

Believe, or want? The answer to this affects my votes, and I'd like to be accurate.

Poll says believe, that's how I voted. If it were wants, I'd have every damn box ticked off. Throwing knives were one of my favourite "just because" weapons.

I'll add these into the polls, as well as any others that come up. I want to keep an updated list. When we start getting confirmations I will put some sort of indication next to them.

Not just any ice, Stalhrim. Stalhrim should be added to this poll as it is very possible it will make a return, if Draugr are in Skyrim (and I believe they are) then it is reasonable to believe that there will be tombs with dead Nord warriors encased in Stalhrim as well.

Also, ebony should be on the list too, we've seen smiths in Mournhold craft armor and weapons with this raw material so I wouldn't be surprised to be able to use it ourselves this time.

I take it as a player you're typically fearful of equipping glass sets? :wink_smile:

I just want more customization of armor and weapons, if they keep it as many as Oblivion (or Morrowind, here's hoping). I know we have decals but I had a mod that made a ton of different colored glass armors. There were a ton of colors and it looks amazing.

I have that mod too, it's awesome. I also like the gentleman who re-skinned a Daedric set into a glossy black. That kind of paint system (Steal it from Forza Motorsport!) would be absolutely phenominal...

I think you can safely assume the staples are still in, I'm really hoping people come in and suggest sets they'd like to see (That haven't been seen before). I'm still hoping to wear bones as armor (A light armor).

I think we can say that elven armor is pretty much confirmed. We have seen it in a screenshot, and in concept art.

Armors and Weapons well

Fur, Leather, and Glass are definitely in and Daedric too is probably in. I'd be dumbfounded if that armor set wasn't in Skyrim.

Hopefully they're some new armor and weapons or the armor and weapons from the previous games get redesigned.

There should be multiple types of fur. Mammoth, bear, fox, etc.

Yeah, I based and staged that picture completely on Tarhiel and his Extravagant Robe and Colovian Fur Helm. Everybody's first outfit in the game.

I know that Bethesda is big on simplifying and getting things out of the game that don't belong. Do you think there are any sets that don't belong in Skyrim? I didn't think of this until I started compiling the list, and I feel like there should be a scarcity of weapons and armor available in other parts of Tamriel. That being said, I believe those should be replaced with EVEN MORE types of armor and weapons that are native to Skyrim. I still think it would be nice to have some sort of permanent-ice magical armor that only works within the borders of Skyrim.

Just a correction:

Flails were last seen in Daggerfall.

I saw that on UESP and didn't know if I should mention that or not, considering most people probably wouldn't be aware and it was suggested... I could make a note of it anyway.

So there's only 12 armor sets in TES.
Every individual piece of each set is identical.

LACK LUSTER.

We need something like 40 sets.
Or else 20 sets with random variations in stats and appearance.
Equiptment is really lacking in TES... I hope they step it up a notch with Skyrim.

None of these standardized sets reflect unique weapons, legendary weapons, fine weapons, durable weapons or enchanted weapons. There are in total a great deal more weapons in each TES game than are represented here.
