Armor you want to see return?

Post » Tue Aug 10, 2010 4:07 am

For me, it would probably be the heavy armor set of steel or orcish from Oblivion. What specific armor, light or heavy, would you guys like to see in Skyrim?

None. Make it unique for the game itself. As long we get sets like in other Elder Scroll games not like in Fallout you only get 2.

I think it'd be cool to see that heavy nordic armor from the Skaal village make a return
and the Dark Brotherhood armor, except a 'winter version', like have a black wolf pelt wrapped around it to make it more Skyrim appropriate

i want leather armor to look more badass. like ranger armor or something. weathered gloves with holes in them. the leather helmet would look similiar to a hockey mask. leather boots can stay the same. and the briast plate would have a cloak

I would like tons of armor, I really liked the idea of a "fur" dark brother hood set. As much as I love the Indoril set (thats what the ordinators wore right?) I don't think it would be very fitting for the game. I would like to see a lot of leather related items for light armor, I'll pass on glass and some of the other stuff.

I liked the way elven armor looked on female characters, though the helmet left much to be desired, maybe if they do a closed helm like what the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:Auroran.jpg had.

I'd also like to see the Golden Saint armor return in some capacity.

I always liked the dragonscale armor from Morrowind. I think it was a light armor. Though, I think there was only a cuirass.

I'd love to see updated versions of Chitin, Bonemold and Netch Leather armors, though I'm pretty certain they won't make it. Not only are they not native to Skyrim, but the culture that would have exported it is mostly dead and gone.

Morrowindstyle Daedric and Glass Armor if it is in the game, the Mournhold guard armor and most of the unique artifact armors from Morrowind. And maybe the Her Hand Armor cant hurt too if its a rare set somewhere hidden.

The dragonscale armor from Morrowind had a nice look. And the Bloodmoon robes.

Adamantium from Morrowind. My favorite piece of equipment in any Elder Scrolls (Played) game so far, was that Adamantium Helmet. Not too flashy, but embellished enough to signify it's stature as high-quality apparel.

Reviewing some of the armors in Oblivion, I hate all but Mithril and Ebony excluding the helm in both cases (I usually used a cowl anyway), though I really like the Dwemer shield alone. Aside from the giant "Buttflap" on the Dwemer Cuirass in Morrowind, I thought that was way better, it actually looked Dwemer, and not Brass elvish.

So far, I really like the armor styles of Skyrim though. Everything from the Leather harness we see the PR Dovakhiin in, to the elaborate Elven armor in the "Ice Wraiths" Screenshot, and whatever armor (Orcish?) the Orc is wearing.

While graphically, I won't defend the relatively weaker power in Skyrim, I'm just falling in love with the art and aesthetics of the game, something I distinctly remember not happening as Oblivion screenshots were coming out. Of course, for the time Oblivion was more graphically impressive, and most of the screenshots focused on showing off the forests.

Edit:itd also be nice if armor rarity came back. i dont want to go through a dungeon at level 30 and come out with 4 complete suits of daedric armor
