[suggestion idea] Armors Gameplay

In gameplay I think Bethesda were wrong, armor suits should be like juggernauts,
should be difficult to find, limiting the vision and movement (such? as tanks)


Features:
Forbidden swim
-50% reduce all magic arts attributes
-50% reduce bow weaponary (crossbow exception) attributes
-10% speed
magic immunity (best ones only)
physical damage immunity

Gameplay:
would pass all light armors to clothing category
armor should be a single complete kit item(helmets + gloves + boots merged)
clothing functions will work as the current armor system with each item like masks or hats or gloves or boots combined
attack someone with armor, supposed first destroy his armor (that would make it not easy to get one)
obtaining armor cost a lot of money or get successful quest reward
only melee attack or some magic(touch spells), damage and destroy armors

I'm afraid it wouldn't work out very well.

For example, quite alot of people play battlemages in heavy armor, limiting the magic arts isn't really a good idea, neither for the bows considering there are heavy armored archers.

Light armor has always been light armor, in Oblivion it was, and in Morrowind aswell, turning that into clothing will dissapoint alot of people.

That is terrible. It limits many people who are Battlemages or Spellswords, as mentioned above.

Both the good and evil Demeter love their light armour. I've enjoyed light armour since Oblivion (never played Morrowind, but then I only got Oblivion in December 2011!), and it should remain as armour.

I have never understood the rolepplaying, logical reason why Dungeons and Dragons would penalize a mage for weaering armor. Why would wearing metal or heavy leather automatically reduce one's ability to perform magic? It doesn't make the slightest bit of roleplaying (or logivcal) sense. I guess - and this is only a guess - Gygax did it for purely gameplay reasons. D+D is a party-based game, and he wanted to separate the classes in a party into a small hierarchy. And this was the way they went about it.

But TES are not party-based games. They are games that, for the most part, feature a solitary protagonist. There is no need for artificial rigid semi-bureaucratic class divisions in this game.

As others have already ststed, this does not make any kind of logical sense.

I cannot express in mere words how totally and absolutely I loathe this idea. This is the worst idea I have read in these forums this year. Armor has been continually stripped away and simplified from Morrowind through Oblivion through Skyrim. Each game has offered us fewer choices.

Roleplaying should be about choices. Choices are what makes one character different from another character. As far as I'm concerned, any idea that limits choice is not a roleplaying idea.

Not even warriors would use it. I wouldn't. Considering how all around useless armor is (at high levels, if you have a warrior character with high health+stamina, then you don't even need armor, it just works and there's no sense in NOT having it) all of those negative effects would make armor the most useless item in the game. Even more useless than buckets. And that's saying something.

Not referred to D & D I relate it to "games of throne" series and the fact that armor are devalued in elder scroll, anyone have armor... and clothing obviously loses its charm

As the benefits of heavy armor I think they are many,(a powerfull character with immunity to impacts and to the magic once destroyed his armor, the character will have full health to keep fighting I think is quite an advantage)

and not prohibit the magic, only penalizes it (spellsword and battlemague class will have their own bonuses not you think?)

I just think about gameplay, where heavy armor are equal to a battle tank (FPS game) to lay the foundation for future online game

You'll have TES:O for that, but that isn't by Bethesda. Bethesda intends to keep their ES games single player. So, forget about laying foundations for a future online game - it won't happen in the main series.

Please leave my light armor be. Here are my top 5 reasons:

1. I like armor.

2. It keeps me alive while I build up my health.

3. It looks cool!

4. Mercurio loves being a battlemage, he puts on armor all the time.

5. Mercurio looks good in armor!
