Armors without multiple parts

Post » Thu May 19, 2011 5:05 am

He worded this way because it would be hard to tell without outright saying it.
Basically: Yes there are different parts, but no the Playstation magazin haven't done a mistake.

I'm still with whoever said that it will be customized in crafting though, because this fits that description the best.
Not sure how it will work out though...

I sure hope not. I don't want to have to use crafting with ALL my characters.

Separate armor pieces have already been confirmed: see http://i772.photobucket.com/albums/yy1/eibrady/petehines.png and http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1194795-separate-armor-pieces-confirmed/page__hl__separate+armor+pieces+confirmed.

I'd imagine that, if that's the case, you could say find/craft different pieces of armor, then take the pieces, and put them all together into one set.

Say:

L Shoulder Steel
R Shoulder Empty
Chest Fur
Legs Fur
Boots Fur
Gloves Fur

Confirm: Yes No

Then it makes it all into one piece.

Then you could go back in, switch out pieces, etc. That way it keeps the armor you're wearing together, and clutters the inventory less.

I wonder how PlayStation Mag could have made a mistake like that.? Don't they check for accuracy?

I don't believe that it was a "mistake."

If I was a betting man, I'd bet that the magazine quote is what's known in political and advertising circles as a "trial balloon."

No - in point of fact, and very explicitly, all that's been confirmed is that it won't be like FO3. That's it. And it's telling, at this point, that Pete's latest tweet very pointedly did NOT say separate armor pieces, but only that "it's not Fallout 3, one piece." It's actually potentially significant that he clearly refused to say anything beyond that.

So, you say that if they don't get a negative reaction about it, they will make it that way?

Well if that's the case then its good that practically everyone on this thread loathes the idea.

Are you suggesting Beth put this out there purposely as a "trial balloon"?

My ideal set-up would be this.

Gauntlets and Boots come in a set but can be worn separately(don't have to hunt down a left boot...but if you only want to wear a left boot you can).

Pauldrons are found in L/R pairs as boots and gloves but can be worn separately, again, allowing mixing or assymetry. Really hope it's not both or nothing.

Cuirass

Greaves

Helm

So, you would be able to mix and match everything, but you would always find pauldrons, boots, and gauntlets in pairs.

If this is true, I suggest that everyone should change their vote from "I would still buy the game" to "Hell no I wont buy it, if there is no seperate armor"

They probably just misunderstood something that was said or shown at the demo. Maybe they showed a single-suit piece of armor that was made only for the purpose of the demo, and so Playstation magazine thought that's how all armor was.

Guys, please drop by http://twitter.com/#!/DCDeacon and read his reply to Teambrady. He says, quite succinctly, "Armor is comprised of separate pieces."
Why continue arguing a moot point?

I think it's one piece, as in, in your inventory it all gets lumped together, so there's less clutter. Like I said in another post:

I'd imagine that, if that's the case, you could say find/craft different pieces of armor, then take the pieces, and put them all together into one set in your inventory:

Say:

Then it makes it all into one piece.

Then you could go back in, switch out pieces, etc. That way it keeps the armor you're wearing together, and clutters the inventory less.

If Beth planted that "trial balloon", they were prepared to overhaul the armor system in less than 5 months?

Holy crap, 36% percent wouldn't buy it because of that. I have seriously lost a lot of faith in the TES community if people are that fickle.
