Armour / Armor and Clothing

Post » Tue Feb 01, 2011 9:46 pm

Simple really. What is your favourite armour or clothing that we've seen? I didn't include the clothes the peasants were wearing.
The armours in the poll can be seen in the trailer at the following points:

Dovahkiin Armour: Anywhere  2:04, for example
Ebony Armour: 1:41
Hunter Armour: 1:29
Guard Armour: 1:28 (guy walking towards screen, down the street)
Mages Robe: 1:28
Assassin's Armour: 1:32 or briefly at 1:46

Discuss what you think the armours or clothes are, I just used what I think they are.

Agreed.

The guard's armour is badass. I love the Roman influence. I wonder which side that uniform will turn out to be on - royalist or separatist.

Agree, it look like scale mail like the elven in Oblivion, guess ebony would be black plate armor.
And it looks good, elven armor was my favourite in Oblivion, look pretty fancy but also realistic.
My favorite in the trailer is the robe, it looks far better than the bath robes in Oblivion.

I cant really choose a favorite right now, i like them all. I'm in two minds at 1:27 if it is actually a mage robe or an assassins variation. I'm not sure we have seen a real "mage" type character yet. I expect to see at some point in the near future Beth's idea of a mage ie. Stereo typical white beard, older male, full mage and mystical attire, just to show us the range of character creation. Also i am still waiting to see there idea of a female player character, it is possible that a couple of the hooded characters were female but i want to see there idea of a female barbarian. I think the male barbarian type they are showcasing for the game works very well though.

I thought it all looked good, but I went with assassins armour, seeing as I will probably end up wearing that on my first playthrough. :) I agree with Valandil - can't wait to see what they've done with a female barbarian; bet it looks great!

Dovahkiin's helmet is what makes the armor.

I can't tell until I see the female armor. I hope it's realistic for the climates though.

None of the offered.
I would like a nice set of clothing that look casual (not too expensive, not too poor), but still look cool and good enough while also saying 'I'm OK, but don't mess with me or I'll pluck your eyes out and force you to eat them. ^^'
Something like http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_3sU0MnRawMI/TPZLX5PS9DI/AAAAAAAABds/aFTqplm4sXM/s1600/roronoa%2Bzoro.jpg, but all black and chest covered (don't wish to freeze my nipbles of on Skyrim :P).
Still, I'll vote for assassins outfit since it looks pretty cool and I like it.
Even though, I hope that they will have mouth covers like an assassin should since I doubt that an assassin would like for anyone to see its face.

I liked what the Assassin had. Leather combined with cloths. Reminded me of Morrowind.

At 1:41, I said it was Ebony because it looks really heavy. Elven was pretty much Alyeid in Oblivion si I'm hoping it's Falmer in Skyrim. And Elven Armour should be light, scale-mail for example.

Just came up with an idea:
How about you can help some people trying to smuggle some Ebony from Morrowind making it really rare, not every 2nd bandit has Ebony armour. That'd be fun.

Well, I like the look of the ebony armour. It just looks like whoever wears it is a legendary warrior.

It must be Elven, same pauldrons, helmet and general look of it. Just compare it to the concept art of that dude in Elven Armor showing the finger.

I like the Guard armor that looks quite a bit like the Imperial Templar armor from Morrowind.

The footsteps at 1:41 (hard to hear because of the loud music) sound really heavy, and the armour is black with golden trim. That's why I think it is ebony.

im not too sure what armor it is, it seams rather dark and heavy for elven yet seams to lack the gold trim that seems to of appeared on the ebony armor from other TES and doesn't quite seem heavy enough.. it would seem everyone else has ruled out that it could be a new armor type..
quick mention about something slightly off topic, when talking about the guards both one walking down the street and the one walking past the backwards windmill seem to walk rather wide legged, oh and slightly more on topic, not sure about the whole roman influence effect on the guard unless they are sort of the imperial legion guards (does remind me of the legion guards form morrowind) , considering this is the north they should have more of a danish/norweigan look to it

Haha, the "Hunter Armour" poor females, always have to be scantly clad in video games, and even worse given that it snows in Skyrim.

I'm diggin the "Mage robes" but it looks I'll just say its a robe to be worn by anyone.
