No armour over clothes?

Eh?, why would you need clothes under armour anyway?

Chafage, for one.
Secondly because I like it.

I also like sliders and walls of text, sue me.
I dont like 'intuitive' games that are so aimed at babies without any attention span, i.e. fable 2 that there is nothing to figure out at all.
The best part of any game for me is figuring out how stuff works, going to places I havent been to, doing quests I havent yet. New stuff.
The moment of insight when you go: Oh, so thats how that works!
That is incredibly rewarding and fun.
It is not fun to follow a trail of breadcrumbs to your goal or having things simplified so much that there isnt anything to figure out.

By that rational, the same used for all these reductions and limitations, you don't need magicka if you have a sword, you don't need swords if we have a big stick etc, when does it end?

I mean like, in the game. What difference would it make apart from having a little fabric sticking out?

They combined cuirass and greaves into one piece for streamlining (read as to remove choice), I don't see them spending time putting back clothes under armour functionality when they cut corners like that to a higher degree with each title.

"To remove choice"? So you think Bethesda are sitting in their offices right now, rubbing their hands together and cackling maniacally because they've succeeded in stripping choices away from their customers' game experience?

Say what you will about their reasons for scrapping certain features, but I can tell you with near certainty that it wasn't because they wanted to make their fans angry.

I don't see any other reason to do this other than to remove choice, means its not as much work to produce the game.

Fun.
More customisation = more viable and distinctly unique builds.
And the general principle that a new installment in the series should improve and add, and not remove.

Or for me at least, retain functionality.

Um, why?

Because it would be clipping with the armor all over the place.

Other games manage it fine, you mean if they did a slapdash job and rushed it I take it?

Because seeing a a few blue pieces of fabric stick out of your briastplate is fun! Yes, I can amuse myself for days just staring at that designer shirt under my armor.

So maybe you want a mod so you have to go to the bathroom too? You know, for realism and to have the option to wet your pants.

Betheshda isn't axing things so their game would be done quicker. Clothing would clip like hell. Until a couple of years a go armor and beards and stuff like that clipped all the time in most games. Now they don't, and you want to put something in it so you can have an annoying visual bug again?

Fable 2 isn't for babies, it's for people who like a mix of hack 'n slash, comedy and fantasy. Yes, it's an easy game, no I didn't think it was horrible. I had fun playing it although it will never be in my top 5 games.

If you like figuring out stuff, do quests. If you like to customize, tinker with your appearance.

Also, I've noticed that a lot of the same people get miffed over a lot of the same reason (customization). Like one little possibility less is so important.

@ Badmagic: not all games manage it fine. Most games don't even have it. And those that do, usually have visual bugs with it.

In the demo, when Todd loots Arvel's corpse, he has both hide armour and farm clothes in his inventory, but only the armour is equipped. Not conclusive, but also not promising.

I'm pretty sure it's the way it was in Oblivion. So no. You can't wear armor over clothes.

No, read as lower system requirements. It had nothing to do with removing choice.
