Armour type

Post » Thu Sep 22, 2011 11:01 pm

As most of you would have seen, Elven armour is back and is as badass as ever, rocking an awesome new look, and I got to thinking about what armour type I'd use in game. I usually wear heavy, but elven looks so cool I may just change for once. So tell me guys, what armour type are you gonna use when you finally get your hands on Skyrim?
Also, have we seen even any Heavy armour yet? Deadric, or even just Iron?

It'll depend. I'm hoping there's an incentive to wear robes as a (pure) mage, but if it's a serious disadvantage to wear them, I'll be a mage in light armour.

light armor but add a hood instead of helmet for my Ranger/Archer/Hunter, probably robes would look better but wont be highly protective against many creatures.

Diving into the game right away? i would make my barbarian wear light armor. I'm a fan of the "Conan wears whatever is available" idea, before he became famous for wearing nothing but a loincloth and a claymore. Or maybe I'm a fan of careless, reckless, disorganized single combat. Barbarians are funny like that.

Im hoping robes and a hood will give me some sort of sneak bonus. Im going for an sneaky archer/ defensive mage with a bit of melee combat if i need it

Mix between light and heavy, and at times normal clothes as well!

Most likely light, as I tend to favor stealth characters.

I think the last option should be "In the Buff". There are probably some weirdos out there that wanna run around flailing their arms in their pantaloons.

I don't intend on wearing any armour. I usually just wear dark clothes on my stealth characters. :)

Probably a mix of clothes and light armor assuming heavier garb will reduce spell effectiveness.

I usually have characters wearing enchanted robes or clothes, but keep a set of 'battle dress' armour for main plot big fights, or the last quest for a Guild, that sort of thing. Unless anything that looks much cooler turns up, why would an Altmer not wear Elven?

I play almost exclusively Assassin characters. So it's Light Armor all the way for me bro.

Depends on the character, really. Primarily light armour and clothing, though.

Depends on what I come across during my adventure. In Elder Scrolls I always "live off the fat of the land" so to speak. I never buy weapons or armor.

Heavy Armor, because my Warrior isn't going to like dying in anything else, but he will find it suitable in Heavy Armor.

But really, heavy armor for the sake of taking the blows while still dishing it out.

What I'd dearly like is a plain chainmail over leather. Something simple and functional with a real medieval look to it.

For at least some of the time my character will be fulfilling the 'naked Nord berzerker' archetype.

Chainmail has been confirmed, not sure if it will still be considered "light" though! :whistling:

I tend to play my charcter as a lone wolf/rogue type of guy. in oblivion i used mainly leather armor and a hood to get the look i wanted.
