You come across a man in the Brass Lantern, Megaton. He looks like he is up to no good, so you decide to pry him for information.

============== What is this? : This mod places weapons from 20th Century Weapons across the Wasteland, and includes a long quest to locate all of them. The weapons are intended to be used with FWE, but FWE is not required. As the quest goes on, the weapons become more difficult to obtain, yet generally become more powerful as you near the end.

This mod will take you across the wasteland and into DC, and should take many hours to complete. Similar to the Trail of Crumbs mod, it guides exploration to many key landmarks, and can be completed as an ongoing quest throughout the main quest and beyond. All weapons are from 20th Century Weapons, and therefore all credit goes to them.

Note that many of the added weapons can be modified with scopes, silencers, and fire rates right out of your inventory!

BEGIN THE QUEST BY SPEAKING TO THE GORDON IN THE BRASS LANTERN!

NOTE: IF YOU ONLY USE THE 20TH CENTURY.ESM, NOTHING WILL BE CHANGED IN THE GAME, ONLY WEAPONS WILL BE HAND PLACED BY MY MOD. IN OTHER WORDS, THIS ESM ALONE WILL NOT CHANGE ANYTHING) Sorry for Caps

3) Calibr http://www.fallout3nexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3447%22

============== Install :
1) Download 20th Century Weapons and install it (If you are like me and don't want to change anything in the game, just adding guns from my plugin, then all you need is 20th Century Weapons.esm
2) Make sure you have Calibr
3) Download my file, and extract with preferred utility
4) Drag and Drop the "Data" folder to your "Bethesda Softworks/Fallout 3" Folder, Overwriting conflicts
5) Activate the required mods through FOMM, or other utility
6) Have Fun! And good luck...

=========== Minor Bugs :
1) Due to my mediocre scripting skills, I did not force you to follow the quest line of discovering guns, so in your travels you very well may stumble upon a gun prematurely. You are free to pick it up, it will just then add the next sequential weapon objective.
However, do not pick up the AA12, or either of the two keys added by this mod (if you find the keys on accident, you are omniscient) until you have found all preceding weapons. It won't be the end of the world, but it would mean finding those guns manually, as the quest would progress.
2) Related to the above, a weapon you have already discovered may have its objective reactivated (aka find it again). All you have to do in this case is drop the weapon from your inventory and pick it back up.
3) I did my best to balance these weapons to FWE. However, you may disagree. Feel free to comment!

These bugs are relatively minor and may not be experienced at all.

I did not personally create the weapon swapping scripts, those were included with the 20th Century Weapons mod. I could try to explain them to you, but it'd be much easier for you to look in the Geck yourself. The scripts seem pretty simple, and will give you a better explanation than I can :wink:

I hope you all enjoy this mod as much as I did making it. The quest gets very addicting and exciting, and I have a little challenge in store for the end of the quest. >:)

This is a nice idea. I've wanted to use 20th Century Weapons with FWE and this seems like a neat way of implementing it.

However, something weird occured immediately after installing it. One of those Megaton Settlers who run up to the PC with karma gifts suddenly said something about "I'd suggest you leave me alone in the future..." instead of the usual "All of us in Megaton thank you" stuff. Never happened before. I deactivated Arms Race and it went back to normal. Is this intended? Anyway, it made me a bit suspicious so I'll wait with using the mod.
