Army of Ten

RP IDEA: Give me feedback, and tell me if you would be interested in this or not.
EDIT 7/04 12:17 pm: fleshed out a little bit more. Added poll
EDIT 7/04 1:25 pm: Decided upon one of each race. List added and race added in
EDIT 7/05 1:05 am: All spots taken. Closed it off D: Sorry. Will get to CS tomorrow...or today...but later.
Closed D:

A simple peddlar by the name of Vassius Crissisus, an Imperial, was traveling to the small village of Southwood about a year after the Oblivion Crisis. Untouched by the gates, the little village was prospering. However, as Vassius topped the crown of a hill which overlooked Southwood, he was greeted with a sight which made his jaw drop. The village of Southwood simply wasn't there. Like it had ceased to exist. In a rough circle about where the village was lay blackened ground. No ash, no debris, no bodies. Just blackened earth.

Hastily making his way back to the Imperial City, he reported his findings to the Imperial Guard, who took it up with the Elder Council. Sending a small scout troop to see if the merchant was even telling the truth, they felt like he was touched by a bit of lunacy. As months went by, the scout team was never heard from again. Beginning to take the situation seriously, they sent a legion of three hundred Imperial soldiers to investigate what they thought might be an Elsweyr or Dominion invasion force.

However, as a month went by, they stopped receiving word from the three hundred soldiers, and a few days later, the remnants of the legion returned to the Imperial City, touched by insanity. About thirty or so warriors remained, raving about terrible nightmares and unholy sights.

At the same time, an old woman who called herself the "Old Hag" (a curious name to call oneself) appeared in the Imperial City, warning the Elder Council of a great danger in the South. Taking her into custody, thinking her the culprit, they interrogated her.

All she said was "ten star-crossed souls who could defeat this danger. One of each race." The Elder Council sent her away, telling her to gather these ten.

Each of the ten began to have dreams of the Old Hag, telling each and every one to meet in a southern village called Pine Seed. Every night the ten have this same dream, telling them to come to the village, until they actually arrive.

So, basically the role you'll have, as part of the army of ten, is to basically investigate. You'd all start having terrible dreams, drawing you to Pine Seed southern Cyrodiil, not unlike the one razed to the ground. You'll meet up, most likely in the tavern or something, and find that your dreams are not different from each others'. You'll begin to talk, and that's when your adventure will begin.

I'll be the Game Master, that is, if everyone is interested.

(By the way, I already know what the "terrible force" is. It's pretty epic)

I'm glad I have some interest in this.

And to asap, perhaps later this week. I know your time restrictions but I don't think it's going to be a problem as most of the beginning will be characters meeting each other and such.

Perhaps I'll flesh it out a little bit more, so you guys have a better idea of what you're getting yourself into.

Sounds good so I'm in. Can the army of ten be a variety of races?

Of course!
I was thinking of an Army of Ten being one of each race. Tell me if you guys would find that okay or no, because I don't want to have three guys fighting over the Dark Elf or the Argonian or whatevs.

I think this could be a pretty good idea, although it may be a bit unfair to restrict peoples choices as a character. However, it would create a new dynamic for role playing though, especially if someone decides to take on a race that they wouldn't normally consider.

There hasn't been a definate decision with the one of each race. Whichever gets to five votes first will be the decision of the people. ;)

I've voted yes, and Nord, Argonian or Imperial are my preferred races, although I will happily try others if problems arise. :)

I would gladly take Dunmer as I already have a character or two sitting around that needs to be used. However I would play a Breton or Nord also.

Does anybody have a character that plans to be living in Benirus Manor at any point of the roleplay?

Only reply if you do plan to.

My Orc: (updated 12 hours after I originally posted the CS)
Spoiler

Name: Gorbad

Race: Orc

Gender: Male

Age: 24, looks older than he is.

Description: A ordinary Orcish male, most races cannot tell any difference between them, but Gorbad is a big Orc and has exceptionally fat fangs (the fangs in his mouth). Dark-green skin. Very dark brown, almost black, eyes. Short black hair. Has numerous scars all over his body, from bears, wolves, snakes, boars, slaughterfish and all sort of animals he faced before the events of current day.

Class: Mercenary

Birthsign: The Warrior

Skills: Two-handed blunt weapons, heavy armor, unarmed and limited restoration abilities, restricted to attribute boosting for short times. He is also good at repairing heavy armor and big blunt type weapons. Heavy armor does not slow him down. Has the berserk power but cannot control when it is triggered, he sometimes just goes crazy in the heat of a battle (in the RP you others get to decide in future battles when it happens, if it happens, to represent that it is randomly triggered).

Weapons/Spells/equipment: Steel armor that is similar to blackwood company armor in design, but with red as a main color instead of the blue used in blackwood companys armor, no helmet and a silver warhammer. The gloves are designed to be useful in hand to hand combat, with thick, sharp claw-like pieces of hardened steel on them instead of the typical to the blackwood company armor-big hand protectors. The gloves have hand protectors too, but much smaller than the normal blackwood company armor. Instead of a helmet he has a red-black bandana. In addition he has a weak fortify Willpower and fortify Intelligence restoration spell, and enough magicka to cast it. He carries a belt with a few repair hammers and healing herbs. He also has a kitchen kit with him, fairly basic, he is able to make fire and he carries a few pots in a hardened leather bag on his side. Ready for many days in the field.

Personality: In calm situations he can be a real teddy bear and is easy to be friend with. In the field of a battle he is determined, caring more of others safety than his own.. that is until he goes into an uncontrollable rage, something he tries to control by boosting his willpower and intelligence before the heat of a battle with the restoration skills he has learned.

A bit background: Was born under a rock and learned to take care of himself from early childhood, stepping into the civilized world for the first time at the age of 14. His uncontrollable berserkic nature was clear from the very beginning and if he had reached civilization earlier, it might have been cured. But he was helped as much as he could be helped and he was taught intelligence and willpoweric enchanting spells to better control his anger, which worked very well. Before the events of current time he served as a mercenary, but after an uncontrollable anger moment, he left the group on the order of the leader. He wandered around doing odd-job mercenary missions, usually uneventful, when he started seing nightmares. Which the leads to current events.

Misc: He is resistant to both deceases and poisons, due to his uprising in the wilderness. He can pratically eat anything without the opinion of it tasting bad. (which might be the effect of the poison from a snake that bit him in the jaw and tongue..)
