I've done the first two quests for Arniel in his Arniel's Endeavor, but I'm not getting any dialogue option for the third quest.

The only topic I can see is, 'What do you know about Ancano?'

I've only done the first couple of quests in the College questline, I'm on the Hitting the Books quest.

There anyway to make the dialogue option appear?

I got the quest but I'm having a problem with the convectors. You're supposed to place the Warped Soul gem into several different convectors and heat them with a spell that Arniel teaches you. In my case, the first time I heat the gem, everything goes fine. Then, the quest updates with a 'Place the gem in a final convector' which I thought was a little strange since I had at least 3 other places to visit. I've tried every other convector on the map and nothing happens no matter how long I heat it. The quest doesn't update and there's no message to remove the gem from the convector. This is really annoying. This isn't a complicated quest that is inter-connected to other things in the game.

Having the same problem. This and the Karlaih not showing up at the stone for the Thieve's Guild quest are the the two broken quests that bug me the most.

My problem is with convectors. The first convector worked, but the other 5 I tried do nothing. I'm stuck.

Has anyone found a work-around for this? I'm stuck after the first heating of the Warped Soul Gem as well. Been to all the other Convectors and tried, re-verified my file cache etc etc. This Quest has me REALLY frustrated!
Guess I'll just turn my attention to other quests/activities until a fix becomes apparent, because I'm beyond worn out running around to various convectors without any progress.
If anyone can illuminate and/or provide assistance with this Quest's bugged 3rd phase, I'd be very thankful.

I am also having convector troubles. I am both sadded and overjoyed to find out I'm not the only one. Anyone know a work around?

Figured I'd give this a bump since I am too. I dual wielded my spells and it bugged it. Now it says I'm on the last convector when I haven't even done the second and it won't let me do the last. One thing I noticed was that by using the spell he gave me, which isn't supposed to use any magicka according to the discription, I am using magic. Don't know if this has anything to do with the bug or not but I figured I would through it out there. If anyone knows a work around, let us know please.

Ok, so I sort of found a rusty work around. Not something I really like doing but I feel I was left with no choice. Here are the steps I took. (By the way, I did this with the PC.)
1.) Open the console command with ~
2.) Type in setstage MGRArniel03 40
3.) Type in setstage MGRArniel03 200
4.) Wait a bit, I waited a few days (game time) then talk to Arniel again and he will continue the quest.

You should no longer have the warped gem and he will let you continue. Hope this help and hope there comes a better fix than this.
PS Sorry this took so long, I was being attacked by an ancient dragon at the same time I was trying to run from place to place finding Arniel. Doing that with no MR is......fun?
