Arrow hits to the suede...

Post » Tue Dec 13, 2011 1:57 am

When chopping at folks with your sword, you are clanking against armour and limbs and whatnot and then of course you can decapitate.

When winding arrows into a some poor bandit, I believe that an arrow shot to the head or suede swede should be a one hit kill. Particularly when you arrow them to the suede swede to begin with and they dont go down, you then kill them off somehow and examine the body and you can quite clearly see an arrow protruding from an eye or more grossley, the mouth trap gob.

If someone arrowed someone to the suede swede through the mouth trap gob then they would be one shotted surely?

Ideas?

What do you mean "arrow them to the suede"? I believe suede is a type of material used to make shoes, among other things.

If you want "realism", play on easy and never add to health.

You stab anyone, then they're going to be disabled from a fight. "surely."
Dead or not. You hack at someone's limb, he's not going to be fighting back very well.

The game is not based on that kind of damage model.

Yea... tried to google your weirdness and got this:

"If DD is sensitive to the suede, would it have shown up right away and all over her diaper area? Could washing in hard water w/o any softener be causing this?"

So you might be off the mark a little word-wise.

I believe he means "swede" which is slang for head.

Oh just stop the pointless bickering, it's quite clear he meant head shots or something similar. And it's still a valid point to question why Bethesda didn't implement this anyway, I really miss it when playing my archer.

LOL at this. Suede is a type of leather material, 'swede' is a turnip type of vegetable, or a person of Swedish nationality.

Swede in the slang term means head. let me re-phrase.

When chopping at folks with your sword, you are clanking against armour and limbs and whatnot and then of course you can decapitate.

When winding arrows into a some poor bandit, I believe that an arrow shot to the head or head should be a one hit kill. Particularly when you arrow them to the head to begin with and they dont go down, you then kill them off somehow and examine the body and you can quite clearly see an arrow protruding from an eye or more grossley, the mouth.

If someone arrowed someone to the head through the gob then they would be one shotted surely?

Ideas?

And in case you were wondering, yes, I am indeed, full [censored].

probably because what you can do, the npcs can do. if you hit someone in the head and it's a one shot kill, then bandit archers, draugr archers, ... can also one shot you in the head and you'll be dead in one shot. then people will start complaining about that.

there's always going to be someone who complains.

Never, EVER heard a reference to suede as anything other than some shoes that Elvis liked a bit too much. What part of the UK? I'm from the UK, in case you get confused about that.

Edit. On topic, you would be 1 shotting everyone if that were an option. Axe to the torso, dead. Sword to the leg, might as well be dead. Breathed on by dragon fire, premature cremation followed by cheap funeral. Boring!

Thanks for the info on this curious piece of slang. Anyway, the reason you don't always get one-shots in the head is because they need to make the game rely largely on character skill over player skill, being an RPG.

They make wonderful pets and get along with cats terrifically.

They will eat a dog, though. So you should keep them in different parts of the house from each other.

I understand It is expensive, and getting that ruined with blood and holes might be crippling..to your pocket book.

Jokes aside I assume he means a bad hit of some kind, well. Hit point/health models don't use that kind of stuff. If it wasn't a copyright violation I'd put up Gary Gygax's description of what hit points represented. to sum up while some degree of toughness is part of the hit point it also represents your combat skil, luck, fate etc. Because yes obviously you don't get hit with 20 arrows and keep on fighting, the growing as you level health/hit point bar is showing your combat skill to turn a bad hit into a graze,
