Arrows in skyrim

Post » Sun Apr 10, 2011 3:39 am

Ok, so in oblivion, the arrows travelled stupidly slow (anyone else realise this?), a horse could nearly outrun them,

i understand they have made the bow and arrow much more powerful and that they will even feel much more powerful,

do you think this will mean that the arrows will be faster? and possible longer drawback times

Yes, I believe it's totally revamped. I was actually working on my Marksman skill today in OB and I also noticed how the arrow heads were enormous. That and when you shot one at somebody, it always came out the other side. Hope they've worked on both of those...

Fingers crossed as i have always been an assassin player, and the bows in oblivion seemed a bit underpowered.

in what ways have they been revamped do you know? apart from damage?

They took inspiration from an Oblivion mod that made you stand in place when firing, slowed down your draw-back, and increased damage. You can see a bit of it in the trailer. Arrows have also been made rare this time so you focus more on taking time with your shots and thinking out suitable strategies.

Sounds alot more realistic, glad to hear the damage upgrade,
any confirmations of a Bow execution? eg CQB

Not that I know of...

Shield bashing has been confirmed. I may have heard something about whacking people with your bow but I can't be sure. Seems likely though.

I sure as fork hope that they don't make you stand still when firing; like some kind of turgid archer

I can only assume you'll start out as such then work your way up to Legolas status.

just rewatched the gameplay trailer, you can see the archer whos shooting at the wolf is clearly moving during his drawback.

Umm... A horse at full pelt should be able to outrun an arrow.
I hope that arrow (and spell) speeds have increased and do more damage (damage part confirmed :) ).

I believe that general theme is going to 'less arrows, but more deadly arrows'....

The issue with arrows are their scarcity...

That scarcity might make archery an unviable playstyle

What you says all?
Doesn't you like new revmaped archery in Oblivion?
Devs spend so much resources on it and don't like it?
