Arrows

I would love to be sneaking around a dungeon, seeing a respectable specimen of a bandit poor schmuck, carefully selecting an arrow and dropping the guy with a single shot.

I'm able to do this in Oblivion. At any character level, with at least Expert Marksman skill. Skeleton Heroes and Wraiths still need two arrows each to drop, but I got no problem with that. Oh, and I play on a 360, so obviously I'm not using any kind of mod.

They spoke about adding a new crafting system. Maybe Fletching is implemented. An Archer or atleast a ranger should be able to make Arrows.

Can I point out that the king of England at the end of one of the crucades was killed by a French cook that randomly amied a crossbow?

The crossbow was also his favorite weapon. Can anyone say irony?

The change that could really anoy me here is the anti-backpedaling fix, if is not made properly. I mean if you can make a step backwards at full speed and then you lose speed, I can see no problem, but if the backwards speed is allways low, dodging backward would be seriously maimed.

one of the things i loved about OB was the ability to zoom in with the bow. If the devs want it to be a "sniper" they should make the zoom in perk low on the tree

What I'd like to see is better reaction from enemies who've been shot.

I know it's probably wishful thinking, but if I hit someone in the thigh with an arrow, I'd love to them go down to a knee and snap the arrow off before getting up and limping after me. At which point, I'd blast one right through his face of course.

Both are required to get a desired outcome. The arrow can be big and bulky for a though opponent but the bow is hard and the string pack a punch then you do more damage than if you shot the same arrow with a thin sleek bow with a lower quality string.

The arrows damage depends on what type of head it has, the shaft it's made of, poison and/or enchantment and the power behind it. The power comes directly from the bow and the strength of the user. If the bow if not up to spec, it snaps. Or you just can't put enough power behind it.

The power comes from the bow. The strength of the user only really determines what kind of pull bow the person can effectively use.

As for the main topic. I like more damage per shot because the rate of attack will be less than melee by a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeMwHZrUbVA. But I see no need to limit arrow quantities. It doesn't make sense historically, they are cheap and easy to make, and it does not make sense game mechanics wise.(neither balance or storage capacity wise)
