My first playthrough to level 70 and completing the main quest was done without a single Art encounter. My second time around up to level 64 and I have run into them 4 times.

Each encounter is different slightly. The first two times, synth Art won and walked away. The third time, synth Art won and opened fire on me as I approached him. The fourth time, they battled inside Bunker Hill, during the gunfight, human Art started firing on me for no reason. Both died by machete.

Any other Art stories?

I.....killed them both and took their stuff.

I have a case of the cloning Art this playthrough and human Art has the worst of luck, I must have accidentally shot him thinking he was a raider at least three times so far. And it's always the human Art.

I had a character that had Arts spawn beside a Deathclaw, Arts died quickly as Brothers in Arms.

I may still have another Save that has Arts spawning repeatedly at almost every other of the Spawning Locations for Random Encounters

I just watched them both fight it out on a dock last night. The loser had no component so I'll assume the synth won. I tried to talk to him afterward but he told me he wasn't in the mood to talk, so I just let him go.

I always hear what sounds like a really intense battle going on. If I decide to track it down, half the time it ends up being the Arts battling it out. For whatever reason, I was only able to actually engage them in conversation once in a previous playthrough. Each time after that they just ignore me and keep fighting. I usually just help whichever one looks like they're going to win, then check the body to see which version it was.
